I’m 5’7 167lbs at 15% bodyfat.

I do a little for shoulders at the end of my chest workout. So with my front delt being pre exhausted I usually do 45lbs for 4 sets of side laterals strict. I do 12, 10, 8, 6. When I was around 200lbs at 25% bodyfat I never went heavy on them, but ironically I do now. I bend my elbow and do a movement like I’m pouring tea from a kettle.

Lol at 45 lbs with strict form.

I usually do 20lb x 15-18 on my final sets with elbows slightly bent. If I bend then a little more I'll go as heavy as 25 x 12 or so and pretty much never more. Shoulders are one of my best body parts not to mention some of the best out of anyone I've seen at my gym.

Form and volume > weight for shoulders. Always keep the reps high

Edit: pic for reference, tried taking some back shots but failed however shows some of the mass on my delts. Too awkward to flex lats and take a pic at the same time need gf go do it

Slight bend in the arm.

No more than 8kg.

Combination of bells and cables.

Also, natty big shoulders are very different from those of Lance A's.

Why the hell is that funny? My form is pretty strict with 45lbs. My shoulders respond better to that weight then they do if I was to do let’s say 20lbs for higher reps. 45lbs is not so heavy that I feel my traps contibuting much at all. It is a comfortable weight for reps in the 12-6 range for me. But there was a time where I was barbell overhead pressing 185lbs (when I weighed around that) so my shoulders are pretty strong.

Strongly believe lateral raises are overrated. Just get strong AF at OHP while progressing on bench or dips as well as pullups, rows etc. maybe add in some face pulls if you need extra volume

I do mine sitting (because of my low back issues), slight bend in elbows. If i do lateral raises unilaterally (usually cables) then i'll lean away from the stack and take a bit of pressure off my RC muscles (usually do this if they are sore). Highest i usually go is to 50 lbs. Ive never gone higher (for full ROM raises that is). I'll do partial ROM raises with 70s on the occasion

Used to do 45's. Now I just stick to 35's for reps, I could go much heavier but choose not to. If I go any heavier it messes with my shoulders. I do shoulders at the end of the week and just do exercises to "finish" them off. I feel that if you're going all out on compound moves during the week, you shouldn't have to do much regarding isolation exercises for shoulders.

NOOOOOO.

Don't do this EVER. That "burning" people feel in their delts when they do this is called impingement. That will destroy your shoulders in the long term.

You need to do the opposite. Thumbs elevated higher than pinkies.

Can I still do that same motion (pouring from a kettle) but stop before my thumbs go lower than pinkies and avoid impingement? also aware us on impingement

3 or 4 sets of 10 with 35s. Then do a couple with 30s, then 25s, and then 20s

I work my way up to 25lbs x 12 reps. I could probably do more but I like to keep it strict and that weight gets the job done well.

I think the bigger cause for impingement is people going too high up in the movement, which places the shoulders in a position they're not meant to be.
