Things happen op. It's hard to save $500. Most folks can't even save $5 per pay check. If you manage to save, something always comes up. Car breaks down, hospital bill, etc.

You don't need money when you live at home with your Boomer parents who own their property.
Unfortunately this means that such kids put off having their own families since they won't have anything until their parents die, which means there will be more housing market instability as more properties are for sale than those who want to buy becoming a common theme over the next 20 or so years. Only immigration and dirty money can save the developed economies.
What a time to be alive.

I always get a kick out of boomers and Gen X oldcels talking smack about "millennials". First of all, they frequently throw out the term "millennial" as an insult against Gen Z kids currently in their late teens - early 20's. This isn't 2010 anymore; get with the times and stop acting like bitter old senile coots. Secondly, boomers are the ones who started the whole trend of ultra materialism post WW2, as well as the trend of ridiculous idealism that started in the 70's. Last but not least, boomers and Gen X'ers are the ones who raised millennials and Gen Z kids. So if they're so horrible, what does that say about their parents who clearly failed them by being their "friends", helicopter parents, or absent altogether rather than being real parents to their kids?

But they have "memories" and "experiences" that money can't buy, too bad they have no assets or bank account.
Also if they're having to pay taxes, they must be making good money, where's it going? Live within your means people!

I think credit is to easily accessible to them.... they think that it is their own money and end up living in overdraft.
Why save up for things you want when the magic plastic card can cover it? Terrible way of thinking tbh.
