Why are grown men so into Avengers?

Imagine a 1950s man obsessing over superheroes lmao. Just another sign of the delayed adolescence of this generation of soyboys.

A story just came out of a teacher posting up a long ass sign on his classroom door telling kids not to spoil endgames because he hasn't seen it.

Imagine trying so hard to project the facade of being a "grown man" and how it all shattered when you open your mouth.

I like them enough,. Always prefered superman because he is super.

I do not however like the movies with a bunch of them in it. Seems to take away from the character development. Think about ironman, spiderman, all of them, great characters and stories. Once they have a bunch of them and it sort of takes away from the one hero and waters it down too much.

Same with all the movies that have an all star cast, They usually just make an appearance and phone it in.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Imagine having 2 children, watching every episode of every spongebob ever made at least 7 times, and spongebob was a huge improvement over that they watched as toddlers.

Suddenly, they are old enough to want to see Star Wars and superhero movies.

A grown man should have so many other interests and responsibilities that superheroes doesn't even hit their radar. Take up a useful hobby like woodworking FFS.

Career, family/kids, dog crew still like super hero movies come at me bro if you take the amount of time invested in watching super hero movies over the last 10 years since the MCU started it's like .0001% of your day it's not a significant investment of time.

kind of odd coming from someone obsessed with Game of Thrones. If anyone knows the answer to why someone can be so into TV shows/movies not based on reality it would be you.

My dad is an artist and read comics as a kid. He then put me onto them and I learned how to draw by drawing comic book characters. I have vivid childhood memories of reading about all of these comic characters that are on the big screen and going to the comic shop with my dad. We also own thousands of comics. So these are cool times. I get to watch awesome action movies about characters I love, who are from a hobby I shared with my old man, whom I also love. feelsgood

Imagine being a grown man and not understanding that other people have other interests and hobbies that you do not enjoy. Imagine being a grown man and still not having figured that out.

Some guys like Hockey
Some like Golf
Some like to watch Horror movies
Some guys collect stamps

It's almost like people are individuals that have a wide variety of things they enjoy. Maybe if I were just a little bit edgier, I could post in the MFC thread crew and state how little I care about collecting guns or make a thread stating my confusion as to why other grown men obsess about their firearms.

Unfortunately, I'm just a guy too busy enjoying the things I like to take time to wonder why other guys like what they like.

Imagine some Spartan soldier obsessing over Hesiod's Theogony just lol @ that generation of soyboys.

Imagine how said 1950s man was indoctrinated by some anti comic book propaganda. Now imagine comic books being riddiculously censored so they could only cater to kids for decades.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comics_Code_Authority

In the end a superhero comic is just a story about some insanely tuff dude fighting villains. While they might differ in scope and setting, they are not much different from the Jon Wayne and Audie Murphy films our dude in the 50s might have enjoyed. Nor are they much different from watching Arnold and Stallone kick ass in the 1980s.
