men shouldn't cry or get emotional

Srs. I have spent a lot of my life reflecting on my situation, getting down and emotional. It doesn't solve anything. I think there is good reason to believe that simply moving on and suppressing chit is the right approach. Men have done that for thousands of years, and it worked. Crying and talking about your feelings doesn't solve anything. It's always women who encourage that chit. Talking about chit won't change the past or fix anything. It is best to suppress it and move on. You keep that chit bottled up. If you ever show you are weak, people will just attack you and make things worse.

Think about it. Men came back from WW2 and raised families and chit. Their solution was not to fukig cry about it. Ever. It worked. Yeah people get PTSD, etc. The only way you can get past chit is by just refusing to think about it anymore. Every time you remember something, you will recall and re encode all these memories and feelings, and it will reenforce your pain. Honestly, the best way is to never dwell on any kind of negative feelings or memories -- to just brutally suppress them.

It's like those studies saying that venting anger actually makes you more angry. It's obvious that revisiting emotions reencodes them, and now you've just associated a new memory with the past.

Men who think that are insecure, sorry bro, you can change your outlook and become secure tho. It’s self pity that doesn’t solve anything.

There's nothing wrong with crying or getting caught up in your feels every now again. 90% of guys do. The problem is when you become a wallowing pussy crybaby. You think those Vets didn't drink their asses off and cry in solitude when they got back after watching their closest friends die?

That's different. That's out of empathy for the people who did in ww2. But still it's pointless to cry about it. We can't change the past.

Some ww2 vets would probably have laughed and told us to stop being sissies while we cried about it.

I'm sure they did, but the point is they tried not to. By not dwelling on it, they were able to move on somewhat. You can't change the past. You can't fix what happened.

its not about "suppressing it", its about using logic to live your life. make plans, set goals, rationalize, instead of becoming emotional, because those things will actually guide your life somewhere. if you cant help it, and act like a woman, you may have hormone imbalances, or you may just need to examine your behavior and change it.

I mean yeah, don't be a depressed sadkunt. If you're crying everyday about something other than someone dying or something, then you're probably a pussy. Your OP made it seem like you thought getting emotional or crying in general was bad. If what you're saying is you're done being a pathetic sobbing sadkunt, then I'm all for that.

I'm saying dwelling on stuff makes people miserable. I don't think you cry it out and heal. In fact, when you cry it out, you are just revisiting your pain and reinforcing the memory. You don't want to forget it. You want to make it define who you are. It shouldn't. As the sloots always say, the past is the past, brah.

You’re not the person that should be directing anyone on how to handle their personal issues; you’re broken and filled with excuses.

That's a movie thing though. I don't think that happens IRL. If anything, not revisiting a memory helps you forget it, along with the emotional pain it carried.

There's a reason not crying has been associated with masculinity for thousands of years. It wasn't by accident. Men had to move on and build chit. Women had the luxury of cryig and dwelling. Men have to keep going.

Oh you’re that retarded that you think “revisiting a memory” is a choice?

No, the choice is to stay a lazy pig and not get your dick wet...that’s a choice. Memories of life’s experiences come and go and addressing them accordingly is just fine.

Alpha males cry by the way...because they aren’t concerned what others think of them.

The more time you spend on a memory, the more you revisit and strengthen it, man.

Nothing can fix what happened. Crying about it literally solves nothing. It is a primitive expression of your pain in the search for someone to help you. It worked when you were a child. As an adult, nobody can help you. There is no way to heal the emotional pain except by forgetting about it and moving on. You can't do that if everytime you are triggered to remember, you start to remember and dwell and cry. The only way you get past chit is by not thinking about it. It takes a conscious effort.

Crying and painful memories happen, but when they do, you have to nope out and flee from that memory. You have to distract yourself and suppress it. If you embrace it, it will destroy you. Because the natural instinct is to cry and hope mom and dad come and fix the problem. That worked as a child. But as an adult, the reason you cry is based on problems nobody else can solve. Maybe someone died, maybe you have cancer, etc. There is no reason to cry to anyone except out of desperation. You must accept that you are utterly alone. The only solution is to not allow yourself to become weakened by your emotions.

You may think you aren't alone as a man. Maybe you have your wife to cry to or your mom. Maybe you have friends. They are all mortal. They can all leave you or die. You are always fundamentally alone. The only person that can solve your problems is you. Becoming okay with that is the hardest thing in the world, but I think, when I finally get there, I will be okay.

To me that is emotional strength -- accepting that nobody else can solve your problem, and just moving on. The things we cry about usually can't be fixed by anybody.

Yes and no. Basically:

- Don't be a pussy
- Don't whine about stupid chit, especially to those who aren't close to you.
- Don't be ruled by your emotions.
- Don't wear your heart on your sleeve.

Crying often is for little children and some women who have no control over their emotions. Crying if there is something legitimate to cry about is normal, especially in private.

Then the same can be said about obsessing over something like not getting pussy or how the world dealt you a bad hand. You dwell on that, it strengthens it in your head and you’re further convinced it’s true...that someone did “this” to you instead of your life is your choice...right?

if you just sit there and blubber about it then move on with your day, yes, that's what's going to happen

if you think critically about why you feel the way you do and utilize that introspection to make changes in your life, it's invaluable
