A woman who licked a tub of ice cream before putting it back in a supermarket freezer could face up to 20 years in prison, according to US police.

Police are working to confirm the identity of a female suspect, seen outside a Walmart branch in Lufkin, Texas, around 11pm on 28 June, before issuing an arrest warrant on a charge of second-degree felony tampering with a consumer product.

That charge carries a sentence of between two and 20 years in prison, along with a potential fine up to $10,000 (£8,000), according to the Texas penal code.

A video of the incident, which involved an unnamed woman who has been dubbed "the Lufkin licker", went viral on Twitter and has been viewed more than 11 million times since it was posted in late June.

Police are also looking for a man who is thought to have filmed the video and can be heard encouraging the woman to lick the tub of Blue Bell ice cream and put it back in the freezer.

A woman who claimed to be the suspect on social media said she had flu when she licked the ice cream and dared other people to post videos of themselves copying her actions.

She won’t get prison time but it will cost her some cash. It cost the brand a lot of money in sales because people complained it should have a seal on it. Most ice cream brands don’t seal it but she will probably have to pay restitution to them.

I hope those people get what's coming to them, srs. Not only is it fukt and disgusting as hell, but also when you think about how supermarkets and food manufacturers are going to have to deal with this crap if it (hopefully doesn't) get out of control. Going on a tangent here but remember back in the days when you could return some clothes and get a refund without any hassle? These days it's a pain in the ass because ****bags got away with gaming the system, taking advantage of a store's generosity and would get refunds on clothes they only wanted to wear once. Remember when you could go to a store and buy a pack of razors, cough syrup, etc and just take it to the counter and pay for it? Now they have that **** in a locked case. Simple things like buying items at a store are going to have to be put under special precautions and considerations to work against the minority few scumfuks who had to ruin things for the rest of us.

I saw this story yesterday. ****bags going to the hygiene section and leaving backwash in all the mouthwash bottles, rubbing sticks of deodorant on their taints and the like. I seriously hope they find the people that did that chit. It would be satisfying to see their faces knowing they are going to go to prison for a long time licking ice cream and spitting in shampoo bottles.

Messing with the food supply is a pretty massive national security issue.
