Depression is fake news perpetuated by crybabies
Sorry the more I'm around"depressed" people the more I realize it's about being a lazy crybaby.
In before "things normal people do set off pleasure" receptors.
Ah yes who can forget the rush from heroin, second only to the rush "normal people" get from brushing their teeth and wiping their asses.
Here's what I'm getting at, as I see it depressed people are lazy crybabies that feel entitled to having a pep rally for them to do **** they're supposed to or should do.
There's some false idea that people get some insane pleasure from working, and taking care of things that need to be done.
Like the depressed person doesn't wanna clean their house because they don't get the same major endorphin rush tha you or I would get from it.
A tiny bit of people have a legit problem the rest are just suffering from victim mentality and these days wallowing in self pity is a decent strategy to get by.

Its definitely not fake news. But temporary
Heres the thing: depression = isolation (lets say an experience, an event, etc. That isolated you amongst "normalcy" - thats a transient/ malleable term too)
But what better way to isolate yourself than to label yourself as something different = depressed
I.e. depressed vs. Normal person
So, in a sense i agree with you
By saying they are "depressed" they are in fact perpetuating the isolation.
However, ive definitely been on top of the world and then had an event that id say led me to depression and it definitely changed my thoughts. Which doesnt make sense, cause as i said before, the day previous i was a ok and feeling good. Like i tried hard not to be that way but my current state was disallowing it.
So i agree with "states" that can be treated

Depression is big business, so there are elements of society exaggerating it.

Life's one big party if you're not depressed.
