Samsung Q60R or Q70R? (reps for insightful advice)

Buying a 65" TV next week, and have quickly ended up with two choices:

Samsung Q60R(€ 999) orSamsung Q70R(€ 1539)

Is the price difference worth it?

I don't need it for gaming, only shows/movies and Smart-TV.

go to rtings.com

and compare specs.

i would say theres a big difference in quality as i have heard the Q60 is not even better than your top range LCD/LED Tvs.

Do not buy samsung tv's!!!

I have 2 of them.. they do not update their software.. after 2 years all the smart features are useless.. mirroring features dont work.. basically they become obsolete.

Go with a sony or japanese television.

As an expert I’m a bit sceptical of recent Samsung’s, no question LG Oleds are way ahead and the prices getting better all the time

Sony x950g just dropped 3k to 2k for the 75. Its comparable to q70r and its awesome. 10/10 out of box color and motion handling.

Although I can't agree that the Q60R is "chit", it does indeed appear - based on everything I've read - that the Q70R is ahuge difference, and is a great TV for the price, just like you say.

Looks like I'll be buying my Q70R in the coming days.

Thanks.

Buy the Q70...direct backlighting v. edge-lit makes a noticeable difference.

OLED looks insane but costs more. Careful of burn-in issues with OLED.

Yeah, that's what I said: Q70R.

Unless I'm missing something and there's also a Q70 (without the "R") ?

Oops...I didn't see that you were the OP. The Q70 is the same thing as the Q70R.

Yeah, gonna buy it, probably this week.

The store also offers a "5 year warranty" for like € 150 or something. I'm not sure if that's worth it?

I think costco has it's own 70r version that is exactly the same just a few hundred cheaper with a slightly different number

Oled is better but it'll be a while before you can get a 82"+ oled for under 3k

OP you'll like the TV, it's great for gaming too

Today's televisions suck as far as longevity goes. With that said, your TV will either last 5 years without a problem or it will have an issue that may cost as much as the TV to fix (or the parts won't be available). I think for $200.00, it's a decent gamble if you're going to keep the TV forever.

NOTE: Service companies are an absolute pain-in-the-ass to deal with. If you have the TV on the wall, the extended warranty won't cover 2 guys to take it off the wall and to put it back up. The extended warranty only covers 1 guy to come out and they won't remove TVs from the wall (they won't tell you this). As long as you're comfortable helping and know how to hang a TV, it's not an issue.

NOTE 2: This TV was $200.00 cheaper about 2 weeks ago. There may be a deal coming up in a few weeks. Make sure that wherever you buy it has a 30 day price guarantee or more.

The only annoying thing is I have to run mine in game mode to get the super vivid brightness that I like, other modes dont seem to allow over brightness, and it needs to be set as "game console" even tho it's a PC input lol

Also the TV will randomly turn itself on sometimes. It's creepy. Hopefully there's a software update coming

I'm happy for you

I compared the Q90R with the LG C9 and I thought the C9's picture quality was better. Did you use idealo.de? I have used that before to score some good deals.

Thanks, and no I didn't use idealo.de, just bought it at my local Media Markt based on the great reviews I've read everywhere.
