Omad Question

Started omad a week ago. Dropped weight, understand that it's likely to be mostly water weight.

In my protein shake I add a teaspoon of honey, otherwise it tastes horrific. Would honey affect omad? I have it in the one meal eating time, my diet is strong.

Sorry if stupid, I'm aware that breaking the eating window on omad would throw your new scheme out a bit, but it would be alright if that was a 1 day blip (not done consistently), but eating all hours would break omad. That's why I' wondering if eating honey everyday would **** it up in some obscure way.

Thanks.

What's your reasoning for OMAD? If you're just doing IF and eating one larger meal to feel more satiated then no it won't affect anything, just track it with everything else.

If you're doing OMAD and keto then yes it's going to affect whether you are in ketosis, likely. Some people can eat more than 20g CHO and stay in ketosis.

Reason is to cut bf% to roughly 10% ish. I find omad better since I can restrict calories by not being able to intake a boat load of food in one meal. I' just wondering if honey would throw it off the rails since it contains sugar. (Like would it spike some random function in the body and fail the diet).

I'm just doing regular omad, no keto.

EDIT: The only other sugar I get in my eating window is a banana, which has natural sugars. Would honey or a banana mess it up?

It all comes down to calories in vs calories out if you're looking for weight loss/fat loss, be it OMAD or 20MAD. As long as you don't overeat you'll lose weight.

So if you're counting calories don't forget to count that honey in

No, don't overthink it bro. It's all about calories in calories out. Just count and track what your intake

Yeah alright makes sense. But it's more like, should I be more worried about the honey and the banana at a lower bf%? I'm pretty sure you can eat burgers and **** food all day and drop fat in the 20%+ to 15%ish zone as long as u don't over eat calories. But as ur bf% creeps down to below 13%, those small sugar intakes would make a difference? Am I right or have I got the wrong idea of this?

Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about the honey if that's all it is. I use sugar free creamer in my coffee in the morning that has like 30 calories in it but OMAD was still very successful for me

How are you able to work out on no food except from the previous day or are you eating then lifting after? Not trying to derail the thread, but genuinely curious how one can go all day without eating anything and still have any energy or strength to workout hard. Seems interesting, but not sure I could do it.

Only took me about a week to get used to. Almost passed out going heavy a couple of times but after my body adjusted it doesn't bother me at all

Interesting, do you workout directly before your nightly meal?

Yeah exactly that, your creamer is sugar free. Honey has like 5g(ish) of sugar per teaspoon I think.

Omad worked for u yeah? What bf% did u get down to, if u don't know, did u have lower abs, veins etc.

I got the gym right after work, about 5:30, and eat right when I get home, between 6:30 and 7.

I'm not sure what my bodyfat is. I have progress pics on my bodyspace and here is a link to a thread I made a while back.https://forum.obnoxiousbrutes.com/showt...hp?t=177431681

My avi is down 10 lbs since that thread

Oh really? That's good to hear. But 5g of sugar per teaspoon per day, in the long run I'd have like 150g of sugar in a month. Cuts are based on long term intake right? Thanks!!

Well, I have food at 7pm, I work out at like 6pm. I do feel sluggish all day, but for some reason I've beem sluggish for the past 2 years!! Like, not normal laziness, the 24/7 tiredness and stuff. So I'm used to it lol. After the first few days the hunger gets far easier.

I only started a week ago. I like eating like this so now I don't have to waste tie eating during college and ****.

On that post you said you were 8% bf? To me it looks like around 14%.

Anyways, nice transformation nonetheless. What time period was that over and were u eating strict? Like, no cheat meals and breaking fast etc.

That was a joke lol. I said 8% on the Leoslayer scale. Leo was claiming 17% doctor tested and showing pics that looked more like 25%. If I had to guess I would say I was around 17% then 13 or 14% now

That was from the middle of Feb til August. I was eating fairly strict up until that point but eased up on it a lot. 5 days a week I'm still strict about OMAD but on weekends I'll let myself eat a couple of handfuls of oyster crackers or goldfish around noon. Also I eat ice cream and cookie dough almost every night and haven't gained any weight back and am slowly losing. At the start of Feb I plan on going stricter on the diet to see how shredded I can comfortably get before summer time ramps up

I don't get the first part about 8% on the leoslayer scale. Your saying that's a joke? If so okay lol.

So, you eat ice-cream and cookie dough every day? LOL. How much weight are u losing a week whilst eating like that? Roughly how much sugar and calories are u eating a day? I know u don't count calories, but roughly? That would be a good indication for me to decide on whether or not I should be as strict with sugars and ****.
Yeah, great idea. I' probably going to do the same, we can kind of do this together haha!

What I'm losing now is so slow it can't even be measured in weeks more like 1 lb a month. I'll give you idea of what I eat in a day.

2 days ago I ate a pile of sketti that covered an entire regular sized plate, a ball of cookie dough the size of a lacrosse ball and 3 scoops of Caramel praline ice cream. Yesterday I ate a salad with cucumbers, croutons, a handful of rotisserie chicken, 3 hard boiled eggs and probably half a cup of ranch dressing (I really like ranch lol) and the same dessert as 2 days ago. I wouldn't recommend what I'm doing now and am gonna stop eating the dessert after this month I'm just trying to showcase how hard it actually is to overeat when you only eat once a day. I almost forgot that every night I drink 30 oz of 2% milk with whatever meal I have.

Damn lol, that's pretty cool. So why are u doing omad now? To prepare for the upcoming weeks? Also, I have a question.

So,(hypothetically) let's just say that on day 1 of omad, I eat super strict, only eat 500 calories plus extreme hiit exercising. I eat that way everyday for a month and go from 20%bf to 15%bf. So, if I hit a plateau on weight loss after a week or so, does that mean that I shouldn't have ramped up the hardcoreness of the diet and exercising right from the start? Like, should I have done it gradually so if I encountered a plateau, I could just drop the calories further and increase exercise gradually. Or would eating such a low amount of calories (500) equate to a near consistent weight loss in the next few months so I wouldn't encounter a plateau until I hit a bf% proportional to calories.

Does that question make sense? I don't know how to condense it lol. Thanks.

Don’t do OMAD do 2MAD

Your either going to phuking your metabolism by not eating enough like did.

Or your going to eat too much of the wrong stuff and slow your results.

Imagine a funnel of calories you can only put so much in before overflowing.
The over flow is fat storage

I keep doing OMAD because it makes maintenance eating super easy and I'm used to it now.

I'm probably not qualified to answer this but I'll give it a shot. I wouldn't start out that hardcore because once you stall you'll need something to try to break the plateau and if you are already doing everything you won't have anything to pull. Always remember that calories in vs calories out trumps everything

Your either going to phuking your metabolism by not eating enough like did.

Or your going to eat too much of the wrong stuff and slow your results.

Imagine a funnel of calories you can only put so much in before overflowing.
The over flow is fat storage

Watch this video and disregard everything you know

Yeah, but the longer the fast is, the better it is though? In my eyes eating only 1 meal is perfect since I can only eat so much in that meal. So I would eat a considerable amount less as appose to eating 2 meals??

I'll still watch the video even though I think omad is better.

Hey OP aren't' you 16? I remember you from that thread you made about choosing a career. If my memory is right you should really just be focusing on eating a healthy diet, no need to fret about a teaspoon of honey in your protein shake man.

Ah right, so how long have u actually been doing omad? Like, consistently?

Thanks for the answer! That totally makes sense and that was my thought process. I wasn't sure if I was overthinking it, but yeah, I'll probably make a thread to further verify/brainstorm. Don't want to risk my gains!!
