Public Health Officials say stay at home will last all year

Claim we’ll see multiple stay at home orders over the next year.

Plus they say this first wave likely shouldn’t have restrictions lessened until July or August (which will still require groups of 50 or less once they do, then the second wave in the fall will hit forcing back into isolation)

Nope. My life is normal will continue to be. Most countries have it under control. America was always going to surge in cases when their testing got better. It's a seasonal strain not a virus that can or has to be eliminated. If you think the whole of the USA can all sit @ home magically with just the bare essentials operating for the rest of the year then I don't know what to say.

Incorrect. Examples: Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore all have trivial and satisfactory death/case rates now. More European countries are getting added to the list. In fact the bulk of the deaths are from just a section of countries.

Some countries implemented braclets for self-quarantine people to make sure they didn't venture out. Some countries where it was practical tested pretty much EVERYONE, for free of course. Under control does not mean eliminated. Otherwise then technically no country will have it ever under control, just like with another flu strain. So that's silly.

People need to stop acting like it's some unstoppable death virus. There are already cures for it. Relax.

Our PM is saying things won't go back to normal until October or until there's a vaccine. I'm hoping by 'normal' he means like travelling etc and not lockdown. I can't survive until then. I work for a huge mining company and we could probably only last a few months.

All over social media is retards posting the "were in this together" but they were all already unemployed or working minimum wage and now make more money from welfare ($1500 a fn) then before so of course they don't care.

Australia's already at 1-3mil unemployed

If Thats true we'll be in a major depression that will last a decade or more. The waves of defaults will overwhelm the fed's capacity to bail them out, if they try it'll destroy the dollar and wipe the government out.

More likely the government and fed will have to stand back and let it happen in an attempt to preserve the dollar and continuity of government. You're talking dow to 5k, bank failures, possible FDIC failure, etc..

If you think thats going to happen you might want to invest in gold, farmland, fuel, food, and firepower.

Are they accounting for smaller waves, better treatments, and better prepared medical facilities?? They seem to think every outbreak will be Italy 2.0, whereas each time it rolls through should be less severe and slower than the previous wave. Even the leaders in New York were talking about shifting things back towards normalcy in weeks instead of months. Sure there will be differences and measures in certain places, but there is zero chance we’ll shut things down for months on end.

In Canada, the feds are supposedly refusing to release the projections and models. They're supposed to do so today, or so they claim. I fully expect a second wave of TP purchases this weekend after those projections have been made public.

It's more than that. Gates is now saying we need a mandatory 10 week nationwide shutdown with total social isolation for everyone. The guy is so out of touch with the real world and the fact that not everyone can just take months off work. Granted, he grew up rich so he's never known anything else.

It is interesting to me how with complete disregard you talk about a man who has literally saved tens of millions of lives. He is very well educated on this subject, much more than you or I. We are the richest country in the world, it is possible, but it's not going to happen because of greed. No one has donated more than him when it comes to humanitarian efforts. He knows what he is talking about, he has spent billions fighting it, and decades of his life to researching it.
