I'm starting to wonder if the covid deaths aren't actually from covid

but possibly other serious illnesses are causing the deaths

Can anyone here actually prove covid is killing people here in the US?

I mean.

People are hospitalized.
They are tested for covid.
They have covid.
They die from respiratory illness which is classed as a complication from covid.

Well, they have covid at least. If they are dying with or from covid is another matter.
More than 99% of coronavirus patients who died in Italy suffered from other, pre-existing health issues, according to a study by the country’s health officials.
https://nypost.com/2020/03/18/over-9...her-illnesses/
But Prof Ricciardi added that Italy’s death rate may also appear high because of how doctors record fatalities.

“The way in which we code deaths in our country is very generous in the sense that all the people who die in hospitals with the coronavirus are deemed to be dying of the coronavirus." “On re-evaluation by the National Institute of Health, only 12 per cent of death certificates have shown a direct causality from coronavirus, while 88 per cent of patients who have died have at least one pre-morbidity - many had two or three,” he says.

Prof Walter Ricciardi being a scientific adviser to Italy’s minister of health.

In the end corona might be dangerous, but they are counting it in a way they have never done with any other respiratory illness and it's clearly disingenuous.

They need to inflate the numbers to keep the paniccels engaged. The nurses are prolly smothering some of the patients with pillows and then claiming "respiratory issues"...

No conspiracy theory but I’ve been wondering this too.

I read a story about a NJ couple the other day. Basically the wife had all the symptoms of pneumonia so she was presumed COVID positive. She was on her death bed for several days, and everyone thought she was done.

After several days they finally found out she didn’t have COVID but she actually had a pulmonary embolism and she ended up living. Gonna see if I can find the article again

It's a fair question to ask, and I worry how much subsequent statistical investigations will be muddled because of the quality of the data.
