I'm starting to hate poor people more and more and don't want to associate with them.

That's the appeal of misc. Something like 5% of dudes make >$100k in the real world, but on here even poor brahs are making $200k+ easily without even trying.

Over here people earning $100k are the working poor

Even if you use $USD equivalents

So yes I earn more than $100k

But no I don’t hang around any people who earn around $100k

Nah, I don't. Honestly, I know a handful of people that make over 100k and they're all ass holes, srs. They think they're better than other people and the ones that are married are caught up in the "We live more fabulous lives than the next married couple," routine.

Don’t think that’s right, at least in Australia.

I think the 5% income percentile starts closer to AUD$150k but that’s based on oldish figures

No, because people who earn $100K+ at my age are usually boring people who played it safe their whole lives (including myself in this mix, btw) and have no interesting hobbies/passions besides the typical yuppie bull**** of binging the latest fad show/doc on Netflix, eating at some overpriced trendy restaurant, or posting instagram/snapchat stories of them getting plastered on the weekend at a club.

I'd much rather hang out with people that make less money and are down to earth/have hobbies that don't require excessive amounts of money. They tend to be way more fun people to hang out with (srs).

My friends consist of:

-School mates
-University mates
-Work colleagues

All of them are in a similar level of professional occupation to me, so our salaries are fairly comparable (although funnily, my doctor friends who are in their first couple years of work earn a lot less than the rest of us). It wasn't something I consciously chose or would choose, I couldn't give a flying fuk how much you earn and some high earning people can be absolute ****s. But it just happens to be that way because my friends incidentally come from a similar kind of background, education etc to me.

Ill hang out with anybody. Dont care about the money at all.

Will say though its easier to relate to people in your income bracket though. A conversation that consists of expensive hobbies/trips/experiences can be very off putting to someone that can't afford that life or is struggling just to put food on the table. At that point I may feel not so inclined to share some of my personal details and in some ways I think may delay people getting to know me.

On palm beach island? They’re New Yorkers who made their $ 1 or 2 generations ago and just manage that money now.

The funny thing about 100k is that when you don't make it, it seems like a lot. When you get past it, it seems like peanuts. Only 300k+ annually are starting to feel dat dere freedom.
