Everything about that story is insane. It only gets weirder the more you read up on it.

The video was leaked by one of the defense attorneys they consulted, and the guy who shot it is under investigation, too. Two prosecutors have had to recuse themselves because the old redneck was a former DA's office investigator or something. The police department is completely fukked and has been for years, and told the guy's mother he was shot by a homeowner during a burglary, apparently thinking it wouldn't make the news and she wouldn't find out what happened.

Small town Georgia, not even once.

This is terrible and those two guys should be brought to justice. But theres too much media attention. Nobody cared when that black guy stabbed and killed female jogger Wendy Martinez. People are acting like this stuff happens to black people all the time

Ignore the media circus over this. Its most likely going to be Trayvon/Zimmerman 2.0. Is even likely they get acquitted of criminal charges.


Regardless of anyone's opinion over the video its only a small portion of evidence and is open for interpretation. You're really just going to have to wait for the trial and all the evidence to surface as what happened with the Trayvon Martin case.

I, too, go out on regular jogs in boots and cargo shorts.


Obviously there's more to the story. "boiling it down" in this case just eliminates many important details.

The jogger was identified first hand by the vehicle filming. Whether or not the means the shooters had first hand knowledge of the crime is up to debate. Whether or not they were detaining him simply by stopping in the road is up to debate.

And that guy was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

This is less about a black guy being murdered in cold blood while out for a run, and more about a system that defends murderers when they’re white and their victims are black.

The real problem here is that it took this becoming an international scandal for the corrupt police to do their god damned job.

Don't make posts of 'muh emotions' based on sensationalism and race-baiting by the media and your own conclusions based in ignorance and lack of all info.


This could go either way and it depends on the facts yet to be revealed and verified which none of us has yet.


- If their attempted citizen's arrest was legal, then the shooting was also justifiable once he assaulted the man with the shotgun and tried to take his gun.

- If their attempted citizen's arrest was not legal, then they committed aggravated assault by trying to stop him while displaying guns and murder with the shooting.


None of us has enough information yet to determine which of those is actually the case ie. to determine if the attempted citizen's arrest was legal. They obviously thought they were making a legit citizen's arrest because they were on the phone with 911 to that effect. However if that attempted citizen's arrest was actually legal or not is the central question to the entire thing and will likely be determined only after a lengthy trial.
