any other miscers user Retin-A cream on face?

for those unaware, this is a highly concentrated form of vitamin-A. I been using the 0.025% strength for months and just recently moved up to 0.05%. before I sleep I wash my face and use it. it makes your face really dry and eventually, skin on your face with start to peel off, revealing healthier looking skin under the dead skin (same idea as a chemical peel).

i noticed the skin under my eyes is flaky and peeling. where i used to have dark circles and bags under my eyes, those areas aren't as dark. also does really good with blackheads. even use it on my neck. causes some irritation but I reccomend this for any guys or girls who want to maintain a youthful look. no use in bothering with moisturizers or BS products at department stores that don't do anything. ask your doctor for prescription.

why? unless you're using it and going outside afterwards in the sun right away. I don't use it during the day and when I go out in the sun I use a sun block (actaully a tanning oil that protects against sun burns but not against sun damage / aging). so far haven't had any problems.

You're crazy, I used it high school for fairly severe acne. It really cleared it up but like you said it makes your skin super dry and flaky.

That's not a good thing its a side effect stupid. Its not good for normal skin. You sound like a retard using it as some kind of face lift.

I am late to the anti aging game but finally on board.

I have been using it almost three months now. I didn't have to go see doctor, I just sent him a message and he sent the prescription in. They mail it to me for free and insurance even covers it. It can't get easier than this.

I wish I had started this ten years ago but better late than never.

It's a prescription medicine so you get it from your doctor.

If you can't get it from your doctor, you can go to curology.com, and get it from there. You send them pictures of your face, and they analyze it, and make a cream based on your skin.

If you can't get retin-a, you can buy over the counter version retinol from any drugstore but it's a milder version and not as effective.

Your regular Dr gave you a script? You didn't have to see a Derm?

I've never used it and still get told I look much younger than my age. I have thought about trying it, though. Are you really seeing a difference from it?

it works for acne AND as an anti-aging thing. i originally was using for black heads but continued to use it and yeah, over the years it does give you similar benefits of a facelift or chemical peel.

Not yet. It actually makes your skin look like chit for the first months. That's why this quarantine time really was the time to start as I've been at home. Some say they start to see difference after 6-9 months so it really is a commitment. Longer you use it, better your skin gets.

Yes, my doctor just sent it in and thankfully I didn't have to go anywhere since I can't really go anywhere during a pandemic. Also, my insurance covers it which is great cos you know how cheap I am lol.

Also, sunscreen is a must and it's not really for sunworshippers. We are trying to get rid of sun damage so makes no sense to do all this and then go get more sun damage.

it's for anti-aging. You need to wear sunscreen religiously though. I'm on a strong skincare regimen.

I only use japanese/korean products straight from japan or korea because they're superior products. American products are too heavily regulated by the FDA to be as effective.
I don't use sun screen but a tanning oil that says SPF8, that protects against sun burn but not against skin cancer or aging. maybe I need to get a real sun block

That is nowhere near enough sun protection boyo! You are pretty much anti aging and aging your skin simultaneously now. Stop it.

Sunscreen is your holy grail if you want to prevent sagging skin in the future.

Hmmmm...... don't know if I want to have terrible skin for 9 months. lol I have pretty resilient skin though so hopefully it doesn't affect it that bad if I do try it. Do you use it every day? Or like every other day or something?

so what strength do I need to use? the one I got is SPF8. I haven't had any issues with it , I go out walking almost every day but wear a baseball cap and that tan oil

not everyone gets break outs or bad looking skin while using it. especially if you start with a low strength and work to next strength over time. the most irritation I had was the areas under my eyes where the skin is slightly thinner than other parts of your face, that had a bit of break out but it only lasted like a day or two. other than that, the only other side effect is flaky looking skin around my nose and eyes.

I would use it but I spend so much time in direct sun that I don’t think it’s worth it.

Used that for a few years as a teenager. Raped my face, constant flushing, took two years for that chit to subside a little bit after I stopped it.

That being said, my skin still looks as youthful as it did 15 years ago. No wrinkles or any chit.

I use it every night (you only use it at nights) but you don't need to use it every day to get the benefits. You would start very slowly as it's strong and then build up "tolerance". It really depends how your skin can tolerate it. But even if you build up to it, it's not necessary to use it every day.

It's very individual how fast you see the results. It varies from case by case. In general what I've read from people's experience with that they generally have to wait a few months to see any improvements but that doesn't mean you can't see benefits sooner.

Yes, I use it. It's one of the best things you can do for anti-aging, besides sunscreen.

Also, you are extra sensitive to UV rays while you are on it, so you need to be super diligent with sunscreen, or else you are basically making things worse than if you weren't using it at all. SRS. UV rays are the primary cause of photoaging.

SPF only refers to protection from UVB, not UVA. You need a sunscreen that's top tier in both, especially when using tretinonin/retin-a. You need to stop using it until you get a good sunscreen that you will put on every day, and more than once every day.

European sunscreens also have really good UVA protection. I actually switched from an Asian one to a European one. My european one has even better UVA protection, does not hurt my eyes, and looks better on my skin.

When you first start it you'll flake like hell but once your skin gets used to it you're good.

Wear sunscreen obviously. I use 0.025% concentration (lowest strength) myself.

for sunblock, I just use some cheap Banana Boat brand tanning oil. smells like bananas.

for moisturizer, I use a coral grass face moisturizer I got from Bloomingdale's months ago. can't remember the brand but it's some fancy **** though no more effective than something you'd get at the drug store.
