I think putting a flag within a radius of 100 yards from your dwelling should be considered desecration

I was just talking to my GF about making a walkway extension off the porch we are gonna build soon for a flag pole closer to the center of our front yard.

But like, where would you even put it in your yard for ants?

Oh, so a little close to the house? That makes sense. You could probably use some wire to brace it to the house, without being super visible, or you could just dig deep, for the wind. Would you light it up at night? I would like to install some bad ass lights. I’m a little more out in the country though. I’m not sure if that would be a neighborly thing to do. I don’t see the harm if the light is just pointed straight up though

Yah probably closer to the house. I'd love to take it down near the sidewalk, but then it's for sure gonna be an issue if I light it. Definitely plan to light it so that I don't have to bring it down nightly.

I knew someone who lived in a better state who electrified his flagpole. Anyone who touched it got zapped with 110v unless he flipped the switch in the garage first. Was Mirin hard.

If not, be sure to get a weather resistant one.

I appreciate people flying the flag, but man, seeing a battered and torn up flag makes me more irritated than being cut off in traffic. I mean, just don’t fly it if you aren’t going to replace it/maintain it.

I dig the intention, just not the follow through.

You really do have an aesthetic yard though and a flag would look good in it.
