You get conspiracy nuts in every nation, US doesn't have a monopoly on that if were honest, just look at David Icke. It's just US politics has pandered to the more extremes of both sides of the political divide where these conspiracy types usually exist and so they probably have more of a voice in the US than in other nations as they feel those in power support their crazy views to some degree and so are more vocal about their crazy views in public. Other nations the oddballs know well enough to keep their BS to themselves or online.

Don't think you have the right idea. Most of us just think it's serious, sure, just like the flu is serious. ~600K die a year from the basic flu. You can't shut down a world economy for a few more deaths. Precautions can be taken. But if you know the most susceptible group of people, quarantine them. Not the 300 million others.

I truly believe the majority of people in the U.S. (including myself) dont think its a hoax , but are also aware that its not nearly as serious as what the media & government are making it out to be. Furthermore , I believe the majority are just sick and tired of this $hit getting so politicized and further dividing our nation into chaos. Not to mention the HUGE underlying issue of greed!!

The medical field is ate up with it which should come as no surprise at this point... But I will use a free standing ER that a friend of mine works at. She mentioned that they do over 200 test a day and have been doing so for over a month now @ $135 a piece generally paid by ones insurance. She also mentioned that a lot of these people are repeat offenders... says every single day she see's the same people.

So do I think Covid is real? sure

Do I think its this deadly pandemic that is going to wipe out the world population if we dont wear a mask? No more so than the common flu and the numbers are there to back it up

Do I think this ALL comes down to one color $$ GREEN $$ ? Abso-fkng-lutely

Just came out my state, AZ, has 0.3 deaths per thousand CASES.


Listen i'm against death but my lord, you don't shut down a world economy for that. That means less than 1 person dies for every 3,000 people that have it.

This, elderly care facilities should be locked down like max security prisons, elderly living on their own should take precautions such as grocery delivery. Everyone else should carry on the same way they would normally with some basic added precautions such as attention to hand sanitation/face touching, wear a mask if you want to based on your personal comfort and get back to work.

I'm absolutely dumbfounded that there are schools delaying opening this fall. Teachers are essential workers and children are all but immune to this disease.

This isn't true. What you think you understand about the USA and what you actually understand about the USA are not the same thing. Unless you've lived here for a number of years, and in particular lived in different parts of the country, you can't understand this country. You think you do. But what you think you know is seen through a media/culture lens that distorts it. It's distorted going out by a leftwing slant and if you're in the UK, it's distorted coming in by a leftwing slant. For example, the BBC commenting on a CNN story about something like the Tea Party, is going to be so skewed from reality that you can't trust any of the conclusions they want you to draw.

But that's beside the point, Opie's thread is premised on a strawman argument.

We don't think the Kung Flu is a hoax. We think the reported severity of it and the response to it, has been wrong and nefarious. We have had 4 months to come to this conclusion and it's not based on conspiracy theories... it's based on firsthand experience with all of the bullchit that one of the political parties has been shoveling at us in the name of furthering their own political agenda.

This virus is airborne and has been since the beginning. Cloth masks do nothing. They are a signal of compliance, nothing more. Social distancing may work, but not at 6'. It's more like 20' or 30' if you want to be safe. Shutting down the economy has wrecked tens of millions of lives and many thousands of small businesses. The lockdowns need to stop now. They are unconstitutional anyway. The only way forward is herd immunity and that's what's happening now, only it's being reported by paniccels in the media like the end of the world. It's not. The herd immunity should have begun in March and April. The lockdowns only served to delay the process. People will die. There is no way to avoid it. This is a pandemic that could have been avoided. Not only is it an engineered corona virus (by the f&kcing communist Chinese), but they also deliberately exported it to the rest of the world and lied for months about what they knew about it. F&kc them.

Came in to say Trump downplays it and his worshipers follow his lead. That is the absolute primary cause of the politicalization of the pandemic, the denial of the medical and scientific aspects of the pandemic, which both lead to us going back to shutting down.

our problem is that the media has used it to push their own agenda, which is 100% true. But not just the media, but the WHO, China, and politicians.

Funny thing is, miscers have been more accurate about covid this entire time. at the very beginning we were saying the death rate will be around the same as the flu, that only eldery people with conditions are really at risk, and that shutting down the economy over it was asinine. Trump is only a small part of this. The environment, UBI and elimination of physical currency are all taking steps forward.

I don't think there is a conspiracy here, only taking advantage of crisis. There are many agendas that gained ground here and pretending that this is 0% of the equation is naive.
