It's pretty bad. One of my dad's acquaintances got life time disability for an accident at work (back i think?). Dude is outside shoveling mulch, doing yard work and other chit all the time. Some people get hurt and will end up needing the benefits either temporarily or permanently, but it's very abused, just like welfare.

The worst is VA disability compensation. Everyone I knew who was getting out would lie about having ptsd and anxiety. Most of these guys are collecting $2-3k a month plus a chit ton of other disabled veteran benefits after doing nothing in the military for 4 years...

VA disability + Military/Govt Pensions. Literally costs the tax payers over 1.1 Trillion a year.

A retired E-7, with 100% disability, who rolls into a do nothing GS-12 job makes almost $150k/yr. This is so incredibly common because disabled vets get preference and someone who does 20 years will inevitably get a VA disability rating. Hell I'm in perfect shape but got a rating for back pain/headache early in my service when in reality I was just weak and unhealthy.

So basically he filed 50 months ago and was awarded the pay from those 50 months plus 2k a month for life?

I work in a related industry and can tell you that 90% of people on disability could work. If you know how to use the system you can get it. Back when I was more naive about the situation I used to collect the evidence myself and hand it over to the fraud investigators at Medicaid and Social Security disability office. They were too lazy to even follow up after I had done the entire investigation myself. They acted like me handing everything they needed to do their job was just inconveniencing them.

I used to think that but its not even close. Welfare is a drop in the bucket money wise compared to the disability scam. It's hard as fuk to live on nothing but welfare but you can live middle class on disability in low cost of living areas easily

There are several different programs available for disability. SSDI, funds from individual entities like state workers and workers' compensation.

You can receive all of the together and a lot of times come out making just as much or more than you were before especially if you are a low wage earner

There's a difference between someone who fakes or exaggerates a disability to cheat the system and someone who legitimately suffers from a disability which prevents them from working.

The disabled aren't the enemy, welfare moochers are.
“Steroids is now just a word that the lazy and ignorant use to describe any guy that has more muscle and dedication than them”– Mike O'Hearn

"I am like getting the feeling of cumming in the gym; I'm getting the feeling of cumming at home; I'm getting the feeling of cumming backstage; when I pump up, when I pose out in front of 5000 people I get the same feeling, so I am cumming day and night. It's terrific, right? So you know, I am in heaven."

You wouldn't believe the amount of fake and exaggerated injuries of people on disability. I'm not even joking when I tell you its over 50%

Good friend of mine is going paralyzed from the waist down and can't get disability so I'm curious what he's doing wrong.

It depends. I'd argue there are situations where people could benefit a lot from disability but can't "qualify"... Definitely way to many people abusing the system though

SOME people truly need it but then you always got the abusers trying to take advantage. but i guess i cant really hate on them, fuk the system.

look at the other end, is it fair CEOs making 10million and giving them selves 2 million bonus but wagie gerald who makes 40k a year cant even get a 1.75% raise cuz "not enough money in the budget"

I have never met a person with a disability who couldn't do data entry or another boring yet available job.
