Some of the more novice travelers(trips less than 10 days at a time) only do things to show off to the people back home.

As someone who typically travels at least 3-4 weeks at a time, you kind of stop giving a fuk about the people back home once you get in in a travel groove of meeting people and having a good time. This usually happens around day 5-6, and when you know you still have weeks left you just keep the ride going.

Attention whoring at its finest. Its impossible for them not to spam their SM with pics. Ill bet if given $5k to not post a single pic of their vacation of SM, 99% couldn't do it.

lmfao "I just want you all to know; I usually travel at least 3-4 weeks at a time" You seem to be right about on par with the people OP mentions.

Some people post pictures so their family knows they are still alive since making phone calls can be difficult.

A lot of us don't do that.
Eat in a deficit to lose weight.
Hit your protein and fat minimums to stay healthy and keep your gainz.
Lift heavy and do HIIT to look and feel awesome.

Texting pretty much works anywhere in the world now. You can easily stay in touch without ever talking to family.

I love to travel with my son, been to 17 different countries with him in the last 3 years, I take tons of pictures but dont post any, dont have any social media to even post to....Its about learning and experiencing new things, usually history related though, I love a nice beach like Tulum or Phuket but prefer Versailles, Dunkirk, Verdun, Bastogne, Sparta, Thermopylae, Rome, Vesuvius, Bastogne, Athens, Culloden, Gyeongbok Palace, Omaha Beach, Hellfire Pass, Kwai River Bridge etc etc...but yeah i know what you're saying, I do like to brag about the amazing places my boy has been and that he knows the historical significance.

I swear people pick where they want to go on vacation based on what would get the most likes on IG.

Would 100% rather go to Seattle(pre Chaz)/Olympic national park over LA or SF. Would rather go to Montreal than Paris.

Lots do for sure but definitely not all. Omg Bali!!!! etc lmfao

Last 2 countries i went to were awesome just months ago, RIGHT before covid shut off the world. in fact we were in Colombia when the cruise ship was docked in the harbor in cartagena and first cases arrived, i literally could see it from our rooftop pool (hyooge building quite sure tallest in all cartagena). almost got stuck there lmao which personally i would have been cool with but my friend i was with doesnt have the work freedom i do

anyway

didnt post a single pic of either country to social media. only reason i use fb or insta is to check up on friends basically. see how my newborn nephew is doing or close friends kids/lives are going.

i realize im deffo the minority tho when it comes to travelcels. i also travel to chitholes generally they interest me most but that's another story
