To remove wisodm teeth or not? Need srs advice (long read)

All my wisdom teeth are impacted molars. Dentist said i should have it removed on the right side, because 1 wisdom tooth is growing and will bump into the other molar's roots. Once that happens, a cavity will form and both the wisdom molar and the molar with a root cavity needs to be extracted, since the cavity will be too low for them to drill into.

At this point, i will have lost 2 molars. Now for eating purposes this shouldn't matter much. But face structure ''sinks in'' after losing multiple back molars.
So i'd be fukked unless i get a crown inplant which will cost $2000 and honestly, i'm not a fan of crowns. If i want to preserve my current healthy molar, i should just have my wisdom teeth on the right side extracted.

--

But having wisdom teeth only extracted on the right side, will also make the facial changes appear only on 1 side.
So will my face still be symmetrical after that? I've read multiple stories how removing wisdom teeth changes the face. Like female models doing it for a more narrow face. My face is already narrow as a male instead of a wide jawline.

--

Which leads me to simply extracting all 4 impacted wisdom teeth all together.
But last time i was at the dentist, he showed me an X-ray picture where on the left bottom wisdom tooth, it was impacted so far deep, that it's like 2mm away from a big nerve.
He said if that nerve gets damaged, it could lead to paralyses of half my face, or losing sensation in left part of my face.
Imagine walking with half my face paralyzed. It would start to droop and i'll look like a freak. My life would be over srs.

--

Final option is to do nothing and hope that the wisdom tooth will not grow further and bump into my other molar.
But it has been growing last month, as i felt a little bit of tooth pushing through my gums.
And the dentist noticed that today.
I'm 32 years old right now, my hope was that my wisdom teeth would not grow anymore, and i would be fine living with them impacted as they are.
Since nothing hurts and my dental care is excellent. Never any cavities whatsoever.

What does the misc recommend?

Cliffs:Wisdom tooth is growing into a healthy molar, dentist recommmend exraction of wisdom teeth on the right side.
OP worries if i extract right side only, his face will change and not be symmetric.
OP wonders if he should have all wisdom teeth extracted instead.
Dentist warned op that on the left side, the wisdom tooth is very close to the nerve which could lead to permanent half facial paralysis if damaged during procedure.
OP wonders if doing nothing is the best option and hope the wisdom tooth won't grow further at age 32, even though it has been growing as of late.

Even if you get a professional's advice, it be smart to get a second and third professional opinion.
Dentists always recommend wisdom teeth extractions, even if nothing is wrong.
Same as doctors recommending circumcision.

I like to hear some opinions of other people of what they'd do in my position.

You are overthinking it.
I'm definitely overthinking. Just extracting the right side only is the safest thing to do. But i don't know how much a face changes if the wisdom teeth get removed.

This sounds like the absolute worst case scenario. I doubt that one day you would wake up and you would suddenly have facial paralysis. You would probably experience other symptoms before it ever got that bad (pain for example)
If the nerve gets damaged during the wisdom tooth extraction, the paralysis would be right then and there. It's not from the wisdom tooth growing or anything.
but the wisdom tooth's roots are so close to the nerve, that if the oral surgeon is a bit too rough and damages it, then it's game over. So i'm real hesitant about doing the left side. But i'm also worried about just my right side changing shape if i only get that side extracted.

I'm dealing with the aftermath of getting one extracted Friday that was pushing into my jawbone, I would definitely not recommend getting two sides done at once if avoidable. It's been 3 days and I can still barely eat and that's only chewing on the opposite side as the extraction.

This

It's a Murrican only thing where dentists make a lot of money on the procedure so pushed it hard.

I hated having to have one of mine removed for an access because they don't even try to save them here

Did this and went well. No issues whatsoever. Needed to do this before getting my braces when I was a young buck.

Just 1? My dentist recommended both right upper and right lower. Not sure why he recommended the right lower since there are no issues there whatsoever.
I didn't find out until i opened the recommendation later to the oral surgeon when i got home.
I wish you a speedy recovery!

Do you still have the other 3 in place? Are you worried about any facial structure changes?

I didn't see the threads but in my case, it's not a case of ''only remove if it hurts''.
The problem if i do nothing, is that it might grow into the root of the healthy molar and cause a cavity there.
Once that happens, i'll need to have both molars extracted and have the healthy molar replaced with a crown. Because the face starts to sink in when multiple back molars are missing.

So i'm debating whether i should have them removed or not, with all the risks, side effects, unsymmetrical face changes and if i should have all 4 removed and risk facial paralysis.

Not even then. Mine hurted like a week, I couldnt even open my mouth srs. Remember trying to push food thru the small gap between my upper and lower teeth.

I'd say try to hold at least a month before deciding to have them removed.

Some home remedies that helped me:
1) press alcohol to the hurting teeth (I used Rakı personally, best for tooth pain)
2) use gargles that numbs (no more than a week tho, kill the good bacteria)
3) try to eat non-solid food like soup
4) I know it's hard but try to keep occupied and not to focus on your wisdom teeth

I could see getting both on the same side done at a time, but if you get both sides done at once it would be utter misery. I am getting better by the day but 3 days in and I'm still in a lot of pain and don't trust chewing anything at all on that side.

I still have the other 3 and they will stay where they are unless they start presenting an issue. And no. I'm not concerned with any effects to facial structure. That's a silly thing to be concerned with in comparison to something that affects your actual health and physical well being. Mine needed to come out so that's all there was to it.

Agreed, except their aren't any professionals on this forum.. or at least I highly doubt it. Just giving you a hard time either way, lol

Also I disagree with them always recommending removal. Mine never did. He told me at some point I may need to.

I don't have wisdom teeth luckily. My dentist picked it up and was like you never have to worry about this kind of stuff, you're good. I'd just do what is recommended and not worry about it in the future.

If you are alpha, you were born with a jaw large enough to accommodate even the most alpha of wisdom teeth.

If they don't hurt, do not do anything.

Source: Tier 1 Intelligence

And LOL if they don't hurt and you are thinking about paying for your dentist's next hooker party.

Straight wisdom teeth crew. Wife has woat wisdom teeth genetics though and her two lower ones were almost horizontal. She had them all removed and the lower right one was so bad they had to cut a very small piece of her jaw bone to get it out. Her recovery was fairly quick though so if your teeth are impacted I'd suggest you get them removed.

If it happens and i get a cavity in the healthy molar, i have to extract both. Then get a crown replacement.
That's the negative. I rather wait it out too but it's not without serious consequences.
