Is $350 too much for sunglasses?

Tired of going through cheap gas station sunglasses all year so decided to get something nice. What do y’all have? Thinking about getting these Maui Jim brand but $350 seems kinda high. Really sold on the bi-gradient lenses that takes the squint away from your eyes with the gunmetal color that gives you a rose tint

Yes. Most sunglasses are manufactured by the same chit place in China regardless of name.

It is if you're poor.

That's what mine usually cost after adding prescription tint lenses with that blue blocker tech.

Thanks insurance!

Not too much for a quality pair of sunglasses but I would not pay that for anything Maui jim makes.

Same OP, switched from cheapies to 'nice' shades a while ago. Though I usually stick to the $100-200 range, I have a pair of Ray Bans, Oakleys, and Persols. When you spend more on them you tend to take much better care of them.

$350 is pretty steep, there's plenty of 'middle' options between cheap and top end.

Cope. You’re paying for marketing and nothing else. End of day it’s just plastic, with exception of being polarized. Women, other men, can’t tell the difference between $500 pair and $10 pair. It’s more the style and how you pull them off. Watches and clothes are the same

buy them if you take care of your stuff. there is a huge difference between cheap and expensive sunglasses. in this case, you get what you pay for. you can feel and see it as soon as you put on a quality pair of sunglasses. you can feel and see the difference. protect your eyes. $350 over 5-10 years is nothing.

Actually, it's a small Italian company called Luxottica that produces most of the designer sunglasses and they are a total monopoly. They own Sunglass Hut and many other companies. They forced many companies to sell or join them or else they would be black balled and lose out on millions of dollars of revenue. They suck. This is companies like Warby Parker are around to save us cost.
It is based in Milan, Italy. As a vertically integrated company, Luxottica designs, manufactures, distributes and retails its eyewear brands, including LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut, Apex by Sunglass Hut, Pearle Vision, Target Optical, Eyemed vision care plan, and Glasses.com.

Depends on your level of peasantry...

I have some Jimmy Choo, Tom Ford, Philipp Plein, Prada, etc. They were all pretty expensive as far as outright cost, but I also make a fuk ton of money as misc ceo. It's all relative...

Way too much and the most I've spent honestly is $50 on sunglasses. I found a pair of Ray Ban Clubmasters and it is like night and day for quality from the regular ones I'd buy. I also did hear about a new company called Shady Ray's which I might look to get a cheap knockaround pair so I don't break my Ray Bans.

$150 is the most I'll pay for sunglasses. A nice pair of polarized sunglasses is definitely worth the price. Would never pay that much however.

Some polarized Costa Del Mar 580G's are the best you can get in my opinion, and they mostly go for around $250.

I also have some cheap $25 Knockarounds that are polarized and I've honestly been wearing them even more than my Costas recently. The lenses obviously aren't as nice as the Costas, but the Knockarounds are the best value for the price.

Would love to try out some Persols but I'm not paying 500 bucks for sunglasses

I've had Oakley's, Ray Bans and Costas. My step brother has some Maui Jims that I've worn several times. My favorite are the Costas. The polarized lenses on them just have more clarity to me. I quit buying expensive sunglasses though because I keep losing them. If I could keep up with them it'd be worth to buy a $150 to $200 pair because the quality of the lenses is so much better but I can't justify paying that much on a new pair every year. I've had the same gas station aviators for years and just can't seem to lose/break those

I have one pair of raybans polaroid ones. Although they're great, i hate the idea of losing them.
Brb can never go to the beach and leave them behind.
Brb constant worry. Also worry bout scratches etc.

The $10 one from walmart, i put on and have a blast. If i lose it, owell i'll buy new ones.
