push press might help touch and go bench more. for powerlifting purposes both are beneficial but push press I would say has better carry over to powerlifting style bench press touch and go.

I don't deserve an opinion but I think the greater weight wins. You could do more weight with the push press so I figure there would be greater carry over to a big bench.

How many people improved on the big lifts because of strict form and baby weights?

I agree when I was doing strict press I always stalled but when I made the switch to push press it felt way more natural and progression was a lot easier

Chest to forehead is shoulder strength, push press aims to minimise that as much as possible. Also trains you to keep tight and use scapular more. If you aren’t proficient in push press it is stupid to do as a main exercise. Also more factors can throw a push press off if you are training legs with any regularity.

Inb4 Olympic lifters - yeah they push press 1-1.5 plate more than their strict press that isn’t you. they also strict press for shoulder gains.
I squat 3 days a week so would that throw off push press

Also more weight overhead = more cns fatigue = slower progress.
Yeah actually I might change my mind. I knew someone who did Olympic lifting for a couple of years and his bench press was absolutely abysmal, completely took me by surprise.

PP brings a bunch of technique into it cutting out the strength aspect of the lift.
