how can I turn my image around??

Today at work I introduced myself to a new manager because I did not have any ID on so I wanted to make sure she knew who i was. Next thing you know my co-worker(friend?), goes "you dont wanna know him, hes low iq".

I felt really embarrassed. How the hell do you deal with that? I told him dont be disrespecting me like that again.

Should I even be upset?

So you're worrying about the fact some co-worker told your new manager you have low iq? She's a manager, she's not just gonna believe everything your co-workers say. It's her job to find out about your qualities. Tell your co-workers you're not upset, in fact just tell him he's a *******.
