I've been reading that cleaning the air in your room can help with allergies and skin conditions related to allergies like ezcema. Also just promotes general health having clean air. Willing to spend the money on one if legit but not sure if im getting scammed

I have two very similar ones in my lab (mycology).

I have a pretty low contamination rate. I also use UVC lamps in there and I have one in my HVAC core as well.

I’m sure they help, but really just being as clean as possible in general is good practice.

I probably wouldn’t have them if not for my little science projects.

Yes.

HEPA is good down to like .03 microns I think.

You work out the math.

How many CFM it pushes and how big your room is.

Then take into account its recycling the same air and it wont be 100% coverage on the "first pass"

Then take into account the air cycles your room goes through. If you have central, its multiple...hourly.

In the end, you've probably "purified 5%" of your space.

Tl.dr I think they are gimmicky.

Also for a 150$ I doubt its TRUE HEPA....those are 10" deep. Legit industry HEPA filters will run you 300 alone for a 24x24x11.5

I think its about the device, I have one in my bedroom and I dont notice a difference but I keep using it, I think the thing is when you are picking one, make sure you get one more than you need for the space. Plants help too, I would say spider plants are the sure best bet. They are reliable as hell, durable low maintenance, clean the air, and just need watering once a week or two.

Unless your filtering at the source, I doubt it's doing much.
