Pitbull looked bigger than the coyote.
That said, not all pitbulls are aggressive. If it was an aggressive one and it locked jaws, game over.

a coyote out roaming like that during the day, especially around people, especially one willing to engage a dog is probably rabid
i live on a canyon that has dozens and they spook so easy its crazy, it's incredibly unlikely to even see them at night, they usually snatch up a small animal and disappear unless they're skin and bones and completely desperate

That pitbull is not very alpha. Pretty sure my mini schnauzer would have been chasing the coyote.

Its funny because at first the Pitbull was mindlessly aggressive and actually was the first to attack and the coyote kinda jumped back and was on the defense.
but once they locked eyes... lol
The Pitbull saw the primal wild itself in its eyes.
Coyote was also more used to wild encounters.
The Pit wasn't that hood either. You can tel he was too comfortable with the comforts of domestication
