I agree suicide is never the answer. I've never shared this on the misc before but 3 years ago when I was 17 I tried to hang myself at that point in my life I was so depressed and suicidal and hated everything and wanted it to be over but I'm glad my suicide attempt failed because even though whatever you're going through feels like it will never end it trust me it does get better

Sucks dude. One of my buddies tried to off himself earlier this year, but he seems to be doing ok now. Felt partially responsible too because I knew he’d been having a rough time & hadn’t checked in with him for a few months. Didn’t think it’d come to that, but you just never really know.

Complete surprise. One dude was happy and on vacation when he did it and the other was talking about it for years because of loneliness and I tried to be as close as possible to him but apparently wasn't enough.

Not much you can do, I still have a couple of dudes who mention it every now and then and I try to check in on them and be there as much as possible but I'm still worried as hell I'm going to miss that last ditch phone call one day.

Good thread topic op. The pain one must feel to take their own life is hard for me to imagine. I hope your deceased friends’ families are doing as well as can be under the circumstances.

If someone commits suicide I wouldn't ever shame them for it, you don't know what that person has been through.

'cowards way out' is a load of chit, people who say that are usually self absorbed kunts, selfish maybe, cowardly no fuking way, it's probably the bravest thing you can do if you really think about it

I wouldn't do it simply cause I know I'm gonna die some day, may as well stick it out till then

Not shaming it at all, obviously they’re under immense pain and stress to do it. Just wish there was a different way to restart/end the pain for them.

Sorry for your losses, op. My condolences.

A lifelong friend of mine took his own life New Year's eve. He has been gone nearly 8 months now. We were thick as thieves for over a couple decades. It's really hard to wrap your head around someone being gone after they have been a fixture in your life for so long.

Talking about it (even if it is on here) is a good thing.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

Suicide is ****ing selfish.

It's like strapping a bomb to yourself then running into 10 of your closest friends and family and letting the bomb go off.

You die and your loved ones suffer the impact and they have to live with those scars.

Nothing in life is THAT terrible you need to off yourself. I've been depressed in the past so I know about feeling down and felt like I understood suicide ideation but nah don't do it.

Do you think the BLM marchers care if you die? or the liberals who want you to accept gay marriage as equal to heterosexual marraige?

they don't mind you dead, they want you as their slave to listen to them and accept their teachings.

and i rather die than be a slave to anyone.

Easy to say it’s not the answer. What if no matter how hard they tried, no matter what they tried to change, it was still the same result. Sometimes for some people there is no light at the end of the tunnel. I’m sure some of these people have exhausted every attempt at trying to change things. For some people. They will never be able to be happy. So for those. What is the point?

I have strong readership on the misc, but I am unable to make threads on the misc now “access denied on this server”, so I will say this in my reply only:

Do not underestimate how hardy the young of today are. Unlike in the past, the majority of young and able people (though they may be unemployed or underemployed) live in urban settings and have at their disposal vast amounts of technologies that can keep them “connected” and busy. We aren’t living in the 90’s or early naughts - shout out to those from 1800’s who had to live through long and cold nights chatting to their “loved” ones over nasty booze concoctions.

It is in fact older people who are at risk - old geezers - due to longer lives and loneliness.

And let’s not forget, most of the young are manlets now and they, like small dogs, live longer than tall people like myself.

Source: Tier 1 Intelligence
"The manlet is a savage beast that knows no moral bound. After falling in disgrace to a manmore, a ravaged manlet would not hesitate to come from behind and land a sucker punch/ swing with a rock to the back of a manmore's head. They are ruthless and you need to spend some more time in the gutter to even begin trying to comprehend what goes on in their minds."

Hurt by the aleeboy and need to cope? Go here for hugs: https://forum.obnoxiousbrutes.com/showthread.php?t=178724011

Came in to post this. You never know what someone is going through.

One of my favorite quotes and the one i try to live by is "Don't judge a person until you walk a mile in their shoes".

Yah it sucks for the loved ones but it takes alot of courage to actually go through with it and kill yoursellf and peope that do it have to be going through something unimaginable to us normal people. You say you have been depressed and i am not doubting your depression but what if someone is suffering 1000x as much as you were.. going back to that don't judge someone until you walked a mile in their shoes thing.

I personally never been depressed to even consider suicide but if i got to a point where i was suffering with extreme pain every day or deadly uncurable cancer i would want to go through assisted suicide rather than suffer until i slowly die a miserable death and id expect my loved ones to understand.

How is it ok to euthenize our pets when they are extremely sick but we expect people to go through hell to die.

I want to emphasize i don't encourage suicide but i would never judge someone negatively that did it because none of us could even imagine what that person was going through to actually commit to the act.
