Do you consider straps cheating?
I’ve been deadlifting with straps recently because I’m worried about tearing a bicep with mixed grip and hook grip isn’t working for me.
Never use them on rows, pullups etc.

Mixed Grip and Straps = Homosexual millennial
"The manlet is a savage beast that knows no moral bound. After falling in disgrace to a manmore, a ravaged manlet would not hesitate to come from behind and land a sucker punch/ swing with a rock to the back of a manmore's head. They are ruthless and you need to spend some more time in the gutter to even begin trying to comprehend what goes on in their minds."

- if you deadlift less than 500-600 lbs risk of tearing a bicep is minimal unless you actively try to curl the weight and your form is garbage
- doesn't make sense to have grip a limiting factor for hamstring/glute/back strength/growth because of something arbitrary unwritten rule in your mind that you think its cheating
- pull your warmups and sets that are less than 3-5 reps without straps
obviously in a powerlifting competition the use of straps is not allowed. I find doing one rep maxes is a lot easier without straps because fixing the straps on the bar kills momentum.

I had a friend who tore his bicep on a 435 deadlift with mixed grip.

Deadlift is cringe and a useless lift. I’ve seen twinks pull 315 after two weeks in the gym.
Just lol at powerlifters in their nappies, belts and leaving chalk everywhere while they take an hour to do 3 singles.
Lol

I feel like straps = better grip = more weight is liftable for everyone, even those who think grip isn't limiting.
Why I think this is that I never thought grip limited any of my pulls. Then I did some some RDLs with mixed grip and 60lbs more than I was power cleaning and found I was able to move the bar at power clean speeds. I power clean with hook grip which was the only difference meaning better grip was worth at least 60lbs, with straps, this might have been even more.

Anyway, some detective on reddit did the above photo for that 881 "deadlift". Literally 3 inches of bar whip and 6 inches of actual ROM, LOL.

And yeah, when I was forced to switch to high bar squats, due to shoulder injury, I got adventurous and tried a belt. I immediately lifted almost double the weight. Was easy AF.
And we wonder why powerlifters cry the most. I personally have never encountered an arrogant power lifter IRL though. They would never mess with me. 6’0 going to bed weight and 200 pounds. Over a decade lifting and excellent fitness.
Thanks for the lulz bro.
