I really don't get why people still get married

It just doesn't seem to work in the 21'st century. Divorce rate is nuts and it seems like every married couple I know is miserable after a few years. Kids seems to be what gets everyone sucked into it but that's just something that makes people try to make it last long enough for the kids to graduate from high school. I think it's just some kind of procreation objective for people, women want to do it when their clock is going off and men feel like they need to create a next generation. Nobody wants to be raising kids alone so they get married and hope hey can make it last long enough for the kids to grow up. I just can't see myself getting sucked into it.

Valid points, OP.

Meanwhile in the third world: people with no income, reliable power, sanitation or prospects for the future are chitting out 7+ kids.

Guess who the future is gonna belong to?
Don't you think it's weird that some accounts average over 200 reps per day, every single day, for years on end?

Does it really matter? You can't determine the future and no matter what you won't really be a part of it when you get old enough. I think this falls back on the whole creating a next generation thing, guys want to feel like they are passing on their genes and it sort of gives them a feeling of immortality but it's kind of bullchit when you really get down to it. If you have kids who knows what they will do or what will happen to them, and it's an increasingly phucked up world to be putting kids in anyways. Chances are you are just obligating yourself to a lot of bullchit and financial obligation, you're sort of a slave to that chit if you play into it.

You have to find a woman that's marriage material, harder in this day and age but not impossible. And Have you met single 40+ year olds?

Projecting trends is a pretty accurate way of doing exactly that.

Okay how? It all starts with women, good luck with that. 50% ends in divorce.

OP must not realize tax benefits as well as other co-owning benefits. Throw in a kid, and you are stupid for NOT being married.

All good and well when you stay together.

But would you invest in a stock that has a chance of 50% to lose all your money?

It starts with laws. Agitate for laws to be more restrictive against frivolous divorce and alimony. Raise awareness about how men get treated in family courts.

Petition legislators.

The purpose of marriage is to have someone to have sex with. It's tiresome to haul every new man to the dr. to have him checked out. It's awkward to have the "now how are we going to prevent pregnancy" conversation. So, that's why people get married and stay faithful so that they can have sex more frequently with less medical tests. Marriage prevents disease transmission, and unplanned pregnancy. He's like your designated squat machine, but for the coochie.

Kids are another matter. Sometimes couples are innocently self centered and don't think about what their children will need until the children are already there. Then they lose that innocence because they must embrace responsibility. Most parents end up feeling a little cheated because the amount of dedication is so huge. Or at least that's how the situation was presented to me. Foster parents get paid for a reason. That reason is that kids are expensive, and take a lot of work. That's why some biological parents just neglect their kids and sometimes let them die of hunger like I nearly did. Kids grow up, move away, and adults form adult communities. One can be a part of those communities without having kids of one's own. The reason I don't want kids is that moms are slut shamed even more ruthlessly than women without kids and I like sex. Being a mom means you don't get sex anymore - or if you do, then you get shamed for it because modern moms are not allowed to have personal boundaries. It's like a community project for men, women, young and old all to "discipline" moms out of any sense of sexuality and make them hyper aware of embarrassing body issues that might affect work performance. If a single woman feels a little froggy, folks call the cops. If a mother feels froggy they send her ass to prison. Yet, it kind of makes sense given that if moms don't care of their kids the kids will die. So, no kiddos for me. I wouldn't trust myself with a goldfish.

Pretty hard not to if you want kids. I don't know about you but at 75 I'd much rather have family members who I can threaten to write out of my will if they think about putting me in a home. You can do all this without getting married but finding a girl who has morals to raise your kids without being married is near impossible.

Sure, we need to change the system and go back to a more traditional system. But again how? Voting? Republicucks are also more liberal than ever.

Conver to Islam? Lol, it's all easier said than done bro.

The west is fcked and I don't see how we can change it anytime soon.

It is, but so were western attitudes towards gender relations from times gone by.

Just because Islam is right about some things, doesn't mean you need to convert.

I don't know seems to always be retarded. Muslims just copied jews. All other people in the world were perfectly fine without it besides some african tribes.

Yup that is what I'm talking about, otherwise you are better off just having a long term relationship. The way I see it people aren't meant to be together forever, no matter how much a couple might love each other it is extremely rare for me to see a relationship where they still love each other like that many years down the line. Give it enough time and it seems like most people get tired of each other, marriage is little more than people being afraid to be alone.
