Hydroxychloroquine question for paniccels?

Question below quoted excerpt:
In the northern Brazil state of Pará, COVID-19 deaths were increasing exponentially. On April 6, the public hospital network purchased 75,000 doses of azithromycin and 90,000 doses of hydroxychloroquine. Over the next few weeks, authorities began distributing these medications to infected individuals. Even though new cases continued to occur, on May 22 the death rate started to plummet and is now about one-eighth what it was at the peak.

A reverse natural experiment happened in Switzerland. On May 27, the Swiss national government banned outpatient use of hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19. Around June 10, COVID-19 deaths increased four-fold and remained elevated. On June 11, the Swiss government revoked the ban, and on June 23 the death rate reverted to what it had been beforehand. People who die from COVID-19 live about three to five weeks from the start of symptoms, which makes the evidence of a causal relation in these experiments strong. Both episodes suggest that a combination of hydroxychloroquine and its companion medications reduces mortality and should be immediately adopted as the new standard of care in high-risk patients.

This medicine has been shown anecdotally to greatly improve the chances of somebody surviving the Wuhan Flu if administered early. Unfortunately, because Trump early on championed it as a possible treatment, it's now become a political litmus test. Here is my question:

I accept that you oppose taking it for yourself simply because Trump promoted it or for other reasons, but why are you so openly hostile to OTHER people taking it?!It doesn't affect you any more than what brand of toothpaste or shampoo somebody else uses. Why is it so critical to make it unavailable for anybody else to use, that your side is going so far as removing all positive mentions of the drug or its proponents from the internet and trying to make it a crime for doctors to prescribe it??

I know it's not proven yet and correlation =/= causation, but time and again it's shown itself to work in a combination of other drugs and at the end of the day, saving a life should trump everything else, right?

I think the best evidence that they can come up against it is that it MIGHT cause heart damage based off one study. Therefore, we should not take it and risk Covid death.

Meanwhile, people across the world have been taking this stuff regularly for years, it has been FDA approved for decades and most world leaders are taking it as a preventive measure.

The logic and mental gymnastics are astounding.

I hope the plague comes back and Trump is the only one who knows the cure, then all liberals refuse to take it because Trump discovered it and they all rot from the plague

It doesn't cause "heart damage" dude. Literally half the medicines in the world cause QT prolongation. Even Benadryl causes QT prolongation.
Totally safe drug to anyone who practices actual medicine. That doesn't mean it works though.

I personally don't think it causes heart damage either and even if it did the benefits outweigh the risks, like any drug.

I also personally think that it probably does work if taken early on. Fauci even gave recommendation for it years back.

Trump was a genius for endorsing this, everyone skeptical of this whole thing gets to watch the left jump through hoops to discredit it as they push for extended lockdowns until there’s a vaccine.

In conjunction with other drugs, and if administered early on, it may possibly make a difference. I assume if a patient asked you to prescribe those drugs, you'd decline and explain why it would be unethical for you to prescribe medicines that you don't think work. That's 100% fine. I understand that. What I don't understand are the people (almost universally not practicing physicians) who not only wouldn't prescribe it, but also want it to be impossible for any other physicians to prescribe.

The total and complete destruction of the reputations of those doctors on the video (which shall not be named and shall not be watched) in a matter of less than 24 hours, should be eye-opening to everyone. We even have some whack-a-doodle on the Misc making threads mocking one of them. In a world where chiropractors can claim to cure all manner of serious illnesses by simply "adjusting your spine" with nary a criticism, it seems pretty strange to me that we can't at least be allowed to hear viewpoints on treatment that are not 100% in lockstep with medical organizations (e.g. WHO) who offer nothing but platitudes.

Also this. I've had patients take it. Doesn't mean it works for Covid.

I haven't seen anyone say they don't want it prescribed, and if that were the case, Lupus/RA patients would be up in arms. It's a drug that works for certain conditions. Studies are conflicting on whether or not it works for Covid.

Dr. Immanuel and any others associated with her destroyed their own reputations before she was ever posted about on the misc. I've personally posted about chiropractic quackery more than a few times, even though that has nothing to do with what you're mad about. I don't know why you think you're not allowed to hear other viewpoints, AFAIK those threads were not deleted. You're not making any sense. I have no sympathy for smarmy, money grubbing dangerous people being mocked. I will not rest until she loses her medical license. Dead SRS.

You know I was talking about for the Wuhan Flu, not for other things.

I know nothing about her. I'm pretty sure you know only barely more than that. Yet because you disagree with what she said in a press conference, you want to see her ruined? Yeah, no. This is America. You do not and should not have that power.

BTW, I'm not mad. It's a dishonest debating technique to ascribe emotions or reasons as the basis for your opponent's views that haven't been stated as such.

Misc is about the only place where this can be discussed. Everywhere else is an echo chamber of "official" WHO talking points. Any deviance and your view is immediately censored (and yes, it is censorship as these outlets include public monopolies). That includes google, youtube, twitter, etc. In fact, the website host of that doctors group deleted their website this morning for unspecified violations of their code of conduct. That's pretty chilling, don't you think? If the facts aren't on their side, then they will lose in the sphere of public debate as well as under peer review. However, silencing their ability to say anything is many steps too far.

4 randomized trials showed it not working well. 2 nonrandomized trials showed it does help. Overall conclusion was it isn't worth prescribing for covid given the risks of adverse events.

How would I have known that? Be clear.

Yes, I want to see licenses physicians operating in unethical, dangerous ways ruined. 100%. Everything I know about her are from her own statements. I do not have that power, the Texas Medical Board does and they will investigate and likely strip her. I know that stripping people like this of their medical licenses emboldens the people who fall for this kind of stupidity, but no matter. She should face swift and severe repercussions, and it's a sad state of affairs when people take that as a sign that what they are saying is true and being covered up by the "deep state".

I do not find private websites taking actions they want to take chilling. I'm an actual conservative.

Just saw this article out today by chance. Haven't had a chance to dive into it.
According to the report, in a large-scale retrospective analysis of 2,541 patients hospitalized between March 10 and May 2, 2020 across the system’s six hospitals, the study found 13% of those treated with hydroxychloroquine alone died compared to 26.4% not treated with hydroxychloroquine.

And yet, you promised to see to it that she'd lose her license. Hmmmm. Are you back-tracking now?

BTW, she can believe unicorns and elves restock the shelves at Target every night, but that has no bearing on whether she is fit to hold a medical license. So long as she is treating her patients within well-established guidelines for the profession, her personal opinions don't enter into the equation. In fact, attacking her credibility on Wuhan Flu treatments by dredging up unrelated opinions about whatever it is she's accused of having an opinion on, smacks of desperation to me.

Google, youtube, ********, et. al. operate as monopolies and their behavior since 2016 has shown them to be malevolent toward political viewpoints that do not align with their own. We are well past the time when these companies should have been broken up under public monopoly laws. Ma Bell was broken up for 0.00001% of what Google has been getting away with. Even google reorganized a few years ago in anticipation of expected antitrust efforts against them. The only thing that has kept it from happening is that they've bought off a significant % of republicans and democRATs in congress. This should have been a slam dunk for Trump. The fact that he didn't even push for it, much less accomplish it, is something he needs to rectify in the next 4 years.

So your argument is basically that anyone who disagrees with you is stupid or uneducated or both? Ok, got it.

Anyway, it's a moot point because clearly many people who agree with you do care, which is why some governors have even tried to make it illegal for doctors to prescribe it for Wuhan Flu. Let that sink in. During a pandemic, some politicians have tried to make certain treatments for Wuhan Flu illegal and unavailable (e.g., in Nevada it's banned for use with treating Wuhan Flu until a patient is admitted to a hospital). It's incomprehensible to me how they think they have the authority to overreach like that.

My questions stands... why do you care what treatments other people get? What business is it of yours?

She can hold questionable personal beliefs, but licensing boards exist to prevent possible exploitation and harm. Physicians who state that that gynecological problems like cysts, fibroids and endometriosis are caused by people having sex in their dreams with demons and witches should no longer be allowed to practice. These are not unrelated issues. I can't convince you that you're way out there on this one. You are though, she's cracked.

I don't know that she believes that. All I've seen is libtards hyperventilating and claiming she does without any supporting evidence.

BTW, a whole lot of doctors now claim to believe that women can have penors and that boys can menstruate. At least, they "publicly" claim as much because it's required by their political masters. I think that is the sort of stuff that should disqualify one from having a medical license too, don't you?

I actually do, and I've posted about that before. Your desperate purity testing doesn't mean a whole lot to me, you've now done that a few times. I'm not the one believing in crazy things, you are.
