Is Dark on Netflix one of the best shows of all time?

I'll be honest I put it up on the tier of Breaking Bad, The Wire, Dexter, Game of Thrones etc..

It's really good up until season 3. Went off the rails a bit there. I hate any "alternate timeline" stuff, especially when Dark had handled all the time travel stuff without it up until then. Feels like such a cop out explanation and lazy writing.

IMO yes. If it weren’t for the slow beginning taking most of season 1 to lay the plot down there’d be much more hype around this show.

I didn’t feel like this. I def thought season 2 was GOAT tier tho. Season 3 probably would’ve been better if they’d done without alternate universes but I still think it wrapped everything up well.

Nothing cool ever happens, the show entirely depends on one big reveal leading up to another and it keeps going. The dialogue is garbage, most of it is some cryptic message about time. Then people not fully communicating with each other just for the sake of adding extra tension. The time travel thing is so stupid. One lady ended up making a daughter, who in turn ended up being said lady's mother. Things just got way too convoluted to make any kind of sense and then they decide to add in an alternate dimension so we have two pairs of each character and they cross dimensions and interact with both worlds like fuk off show. Stopped watching in season 3, it just got way too stupid.

Kinda boring? The show was stupid before, and Season 3 went completely off the rails. They're trying too hard to just keep adding mystery after mystery. Well, at least the first two seasons presented an original story and we got to know the characters quite a bit. Yeah, I got to like some of them or intrigued by them at least.
Last season is basically the same thing in an alternate universe and the build up is slow. I didn't get past ep3 but I heard that the finale is interesting.

imo they did a great job with wrapping everything up nicely, it was a really satisfying finale to me

leading up to this they did take their time and moved slow to explicate how everything was connected

I rewatched the first 2 season completely right before the release of the 3th so for me this wasn't neccesary but I can understand they wanted to do this in order not to scare away those who were less invested in the show

Yes, I kinda forgot what happened previously so this is also why S3 was not as captivating. TBH I don't have time to rewatch 2 seasons either but I will probably end up watching S3 anyway, I'm curious how they wrap it up.

Got two episodes into season 3 and turned it off.

Was hooked when the 1st season first dropped. Second one was ok. 3rd... Trying too hard and too chitty.
