45 Years Ago Today — Jimmy Hoffa Disappeared



James Riddle Hoffa was a great American. He was president of the International Brotherhood it Teamsters (IBT) from 1957 to 1967. At this time he was the 2nd most popular man in America behind Kennedy.

Controversial throughout his life, Hoffa was forced to step down from his union position in the midst of a prison sentence for fraud. Heavily mobbed up, Hoffa famously feuded with RFK over his connections. Thing is, despite his questionable ethics, Hoffa arguably did more for the working man than anyone else in history. He put his heart and soul into improving the lives of American workers.

On July 30, 1975, Hoffa was scheduled to meet with two Detroit mobsters names Tony Jack and Tony Pro at the Machus Red Fox restaurant. He disappeared sometime that afternoon, never to be seen again.

Countless investigations into the matter have come up short. While Hoffa was almost undoubtedly murdered by the mafia for his refusal to step away from the union and threats to expose organized crime, Jimmy’s exact fate have never been confirmed.

Yea but after he went in prison, the mob put on someone that they liked more, and when he got out of prison, he wanted his position back but the mob said just enjoy the retirement and the guy still asked for his spot, so they bumped him.
