Imagine buying a home in the Bay Area now
Especially with remote work options already in motion.
Unless your net worth is $5M+, it's a dumb choice.
Taking decades off retirement, or a far better work/life balance just to live there.
Really horrible risk to reward and value for money. Real estate could crash hard if tech leaves the area.
Family ties is the only thing that makes any sense, but even then...

The nice area is the western Pacific Coast Highway, and some specific areas of SF itself. But most property isn't even there.

In the future the key to the city will be handed over to homeless degenerates. Because itโs the right thing to do. Why canโt homeless people who donโt want to work for a living not own a house in SF.??? Not serious

thats why i left CA for hawaii. sure, property is expensive, but its not a chit hole and i'm living in paradise
