I have sympathy. I believe people can be trapped in a body they do not want to be in. That being said, most transgender people do seem to have genuine mental illnesses they struggle with, from depression, to BPD, to flat out schizophrenia. Dealing with those issues will breed destructive behavior. Is being trans in this society the cause or just a symptom of their larger issue? I couldn’t tell you. I lean towards the latter.
