Good. She obviously did the right thing during these times on cops and continuously asked him to drop the knife. He didn't comply and eventually charged at her. He was clearly insane. She shot and hit him once and didn't discharge 10 rounds into him. Kept her distance.

Surprised how calm a female officer was. Usually they aren't

LOL! Another Monday morning quarterback. Yelling "drop the knife" and then backing away from minutes, trying to give him time and space to cool down isn't enough? Should she have dropped her panties and let him go all Captain Sweden on her?

Please oh please tell us the RIGHT magical de-escalation technique in that scenario? What SPECIFIC technique would have worked for that MENTALLY ALTERED, armed, dangerous, and threatening male that probably outweighed her by 100 pounds? I got it, there is a desire from the uninformed, inexperienced keyboard warrior community to change tactics, but when you have someone storming around with a knife...and you have to protect the community...you can't dawdle around and let some innocent person get hurt and pull a UK in the parking lot.

This is why we need to defund the police and have social workers in place of these heroic cops. Instead of protecting civilians from a knife wielding mad man, they can deescalate and get stabbed to death.
