Shieett. I dont have the long pins like that, just a plate and some screws, but, was just wondering if you were ever able to run again and work out like you did before? And did you do physically therapy? i am coming to the end of my cast/walking boot phase and can already walk with the boot and orthopedist will decide next week if I need PT or not. Thanks!!

This is actually my wife's ankle she is disabled from this accident.
3 years and she can predict the weather better than the evening news

Some people recover no problem.this was a 360 degree rotated break...horrible accident

ahh I see, dang, sounds pretty serious. I didn't have a 360 rotated break so I guess mine would be pretty different in terms oh leaing process and all that.

Good luck

Welp, I came in here thinking getting my buildup drained and tendons tightened from severe ankle rolling accumulated over 10 years would make me relevant, but compared to that...I got nothing.

I would recommend getting at least an assessment from a sports physiotherapist. It depends on the surgery and a bunch of factors, but proper ankle mobility can be extremely difficult to regain (important for squats, running, proper mechanics overall) if you don't gain them back in the first year. If you don't get proper mobility back, aside from limiting your exercises it can lead to compensations higher up the chain (knee/hip/back). Make sure its physio that focuses on mobility/stretching/strengthening/exercises and not just one that puts electric pads and ice/heat only on.

Sweet, thank you. I will make sure they go over all that with me and that i'd like to get back to running. My orthopedist has his own physical therapist at the office so idk if theyre sport specific ones but hopefully they are pretty knowledgable

As far as I've seen up here the physios that orthos refer patients to are usually pretty good. Tell your ortho that you want to get back to exercise, not just walking around. Good luck!
