Question about treadmills

I did 15 minutes on the fat burn setting on the treadmill and the back of my knees were definitely stretched out. The treadmill adjusts the incline to keep your Heart rate at fat burn mode

I’ve never felt a burn on the area behind the knee before. Is this something I will get used to? I never got this sensation doing the stair master or elliptical

Better to run outdoors, unless it's illegal now because of coronavirus

I was just power walking at like 3.2 mph. Walking outside gives me sore feet and such. But I’m wondering if the burning at the back of my knees is natural and I’m guessing it’s because of the changing incline?

buy better shoes maybe? You burn more calories off a treadmill than on one (plus its more fun).

It should go away, don't overdo it up front. I've noticed that walking at the beach (on sand) is different than on the (paved) trails we usually walk, and that is different than the treadmill and definitely different than cycling.
I think they all work slightly different muscle angles, recruitement, etc. so you will probably have new sore spots each time you try something different. The beach kills my legs since I only get to do those workouts a couple of weeks a year.
