Question about the scene in Reiquiem for Dream.....

The doctor sees the gyus arm and it is all messed up. The doctor then grabs the cops and has his him put in jail instead of taken care of. Can that happen in real life?

why not
doctors sometimes
are forced not to
treat this or that
even in hospitals if the
bills hit a certain level
they may become /careless
just to force you to pay/leaf

srs

In general no, what would they charge him with? I don't think "use" is a law anywhere, just like possession and selling. Also diet pills don't make the fridge run after you but the most realistic scene in the whole movie is the last one with Maid Marienne.

No, but they will call the cops if you show up with a bullet wound. My friend used to be a nurse in the hood in Alabama and she said cars would roll up to the door and just shove Tyrone out of the whip and take off lmao.

"How did you get shot?"

"I dunno. Didn't see NOTHING."

This is pretty much it.

Even if there was evidence of a crime being committed, the ER doc would have to stabilize any serious conditions to releasing him to the cops.

Anything short of exactly that and the Doc and hospital are easy targets for financial/legal liability claims.

the diet pills were amphetamine and constant use mixed with lack of sleep will result in psychosis, but yes you are right, nobody would ever be arrested in that circumstance.

Bruh, they were selling drugs in that movie. They were arrested because they got caught with an amount large enough to be considered intent to distribute.
