free solo of course. He leads the way and you follow him up. Copying every thing he does. He will even wait for you. However he can't touch you in anyway, even if you fall.

Phuck no. I've gone rock climbing/bouldering just the bare minimum amount enough to know that it requires a LOT of tendon strength in the hands and forearms which I don't have.

$1B is cool, but there's just no way in hell anyone other than a master climber would be able to do this.

actual climber checking in, no. lol at any miscer who thinks they could even come close to doing el cap, even roped up.

the effortless looking transitions he makes on that climb are freakin insane. it's annoying to watch with folks that have never tried any real climbing because you can't comprehend how difficult the moves are...so you don't even appreciate what you're seeing. enjoyed the Free Solo movie though. dude is def a badasss, and an autist. he should join the misc.

no because cant spend it if youre dead.

rather take out my networth and bet it all on black then id atleast have 48% chance or whatever of winning and doubling (less than doubling after taxes) net worth.

if you fail and lose everything you could always off yourself. so 48% chance of doubling networth or 1 in a million (guessing) chance of making it up mountain with no training for a billion.

Single most impressive feat in human history ?

Some may say you only risk your own life
Thing is Alex is a serious Autist.

He doesn't not know that it is his life that is on the line every single second up there.

He knows it but completely disregards it in his subconscious mind.

Our nervous system and brain are so deeply routed of deathly falls and dangers that 99% of all human beings born at some stage in their childhood have falling dreams with legit g force feelings.

We wake up instantly, that's the limbo effect you see in Inception (real thing)

Alex does have it but just is able to control everything in his body.

If you ask me he is not just a mellow guy. Bet there is something seriously wrong or wired differently with him.

That's also why no one will try this again.

the nose can be followed (jumarred) by anyone reasonably fit with a skilled leader and a lot of balls. but it took 24 years worth of attempts before it was freed

the crux (one of?) was thought to only be able to be freed by someone with tiny fingers

a sense of the exposure

edit the crux pitch is changing corners, both 13+ and hill flashed both i think out of sequence

So you will attempt a free solo, only done once and for the first time ever 2 years ago by one of the top climbers in the world after he prepped for 3 plus years to do ONLY this run.... ok

I dont think people understand how hard free soloing is. Climbing tall faces is already scary, now you are doing it knowing if you fall you will 100% die. The fear becomes extreme and you cant even think straight. 0 chance of someone who isnt winning climbing tournaments even making it a 10th of the way up there.

Watch free solo, he actually has a very low fear response. Tommy Caldwell was actually going to attempt it before deciding on the Dawn Wall because his depression was so bad that he didnt care if he died doing it (Before he met his new wife Beth and had his son Fitz)

Sure with 1 year prep time. I did routes in climbing gyms 2 grades lower than the hardest point of el cap. I could definitely become good enough to do the crux (hardest part) and with 1 year prep time I can drop 20ish lb while significantly increasing my strength/endurance and it should be at least possible

The issue isn't the difficulty for the most part (although it's definitely not easy and you need plenty of climbing experience to do it). The issue is the stamina portion. The main reason I think it's at least possible is because i have an incredibly light frame and could probably get down to 150-155 while maintaining my strength at current 185. 6ft, size 8.5 feet and 28in waist at my lightest

note: have transitioned my training to climbing 2-3x a week for the last 2 years
