Since the late 1970s when Nixon opened up relations with China, factories have been moving to Mexico/China/etc because unions became too strong in the US and made it so our products were no longer competitive.

In 1980, Flint Michigan was a place where someone could graduate high school and have a job earning $70,000 per year right away. Now 40 years later, anyone who has been there will tell you it's one of the biggest chithole places in the US with one of the largest rates of poverty.

This extreme "liberalism" only thrives in an environment where people don't see themselves having any skin in the game and don't see themselves as having any great future. They don't get married, don't have any kids, don't view themselves as having any great opportunity. Most people who aren't crazy church people aren't extreme social conservatives nowadays regardless of their political persuasion.

The reason Trump has widespread appeal is because these people know opportunity and hope is what will bring their communities back to the natural conservative/family/happy state. People who are too economically conservative don't have thriving communities, but when there's hope more people spend. COVID will bring things back in this direction very quickly, and it's the catalyst to bringing the US back on top of the global economy. The next 20 years will be very good in the US.

I think they should discourage promiscuity and drug use, reduce the military, seek peace and diplomacy over war, focus on STEM, protect the environment, promote a free and competitive market (reduce patents, trademarks, and copyrights), cut taxes, cut most welfare, cut social security (people should be expected to care for their parents), stop funding sports, cut most public education to bare minimum required to maintain test scores, and promote equal opportunity and rights under the law. Govt healthcare could be done depending on if it is cheaper and more efficient than private. Oh and discourage religious influence on the state, but let religions practice their chit where it doesn't hurt anyone.
