My uncle owns a 05 Crew Cab Sierra. I love the body style of my truck, and I hate the new style (too bulky). Gas mileage is my only complaint; running a 5.3L with a CAI and Flows pushing 12.3MPG. Although my 33" ProComps and 20" chrome rims do not help much!
I would recommend the truck to anyone, but go with the crew cab! You will love it and never regret the purchase, beats the hell out of the ext. cab awkward doors.

I thought the new diesel looked good. I dont love or hate the new body, but thought the diesel mileage numbers looked great. I have a 23 food Grady White and was thinking the diesel would be a great engine for towing.
Will get crew cab. Only makes sense. Z71 too

With the diesel Silverado is rated to like 9300lb. I figured it would be perfect given the weight is not bad.
I hate the idea of def, but a necessary evil. Based on the numbers you could tow my boat with a Colorado diesel, but that would be stupid.
That brings me to Silverado. Since I only tow a few times a year I am not sure what I would do with a 3/4 ton for the rest of the time
