cat locked himself in the bathroom help(srs)

I have a toy tied on the knob and I guess he turned the lock while playing. the lock isn't a push button. its a twist lock. How do I get in there? I don't have a small screw driver handy.

you dont need a flathead screwdriver. Just anything flat enough. Some small pocketknives will work

Edit: If the hinges are on your side, which they probably arent, then you could take them off but that would require a phillips head

I've never encountered a bathroom lock that doesn't require a key, that was extremely easy to unlock using any one of a bunch of household items.

Wtf is a cat toy doing on the inside of a bathroom door/lock?

Get a knife or a credit card and very carefully while pointing blade away from you, you may be able to wiggle the latch part of the lock out of the jam.

Tried to unscrew the knob the lock was stuck. Ended up punching a hole in the door with my fist and ripping the mechanism out. My cat Started drinking out of the toilet So I had to act fast at that point.

Now I don’t have a lock on the bathroom door. Waiting to get those locks you can unlock with a butter knife.

next time take a bic pen apart and use the little plastic tube the ink is in to push the button in the little hole

That sounds like the most difficult possible way to open it. If you punched a hole through the door it would have been far easier to unlock it rather than tear the insides of the knob out. Sounds made up to me.
