Do you respect Lance Armstrong? (poll)

One one hand
-He "won" the toughest cycling event in cycling history 7 times in a row (no man in human history has ever done this before)
-He won those races in an era where doping was pervasive. You don't dope, you come last or close to last, simple. (Not excusing him)
-He raised $500 million for cancer patients through Livestrong
-He confessed to doping and came clean

On the other hand
-There are numerous reports he bullied his teammates into doping
-He would intimidate and try to ruin the lives of journalists, reporters, book writers who dared to try and slander his name
-His ruthless win at all cost mentality led to him being the scapegoat for doping and the ENORMOUS public backlash. Plus he was the biggest name in cycling.

CLIFFS
-What Lance achieved is remarkable, doping or not
-He was a bit of a prick, which is why he gets so much hate

Do you respect him?

How can you not respect someone who comes back from cancer to win the Tour De France... because he lied about taking PEDs? Like everyone else in the top ten did.

Lol at the *******s who had to bring him to "justice" costing a charity millions of pounds for kids. *******s

Yes, he is the top tier greatest athlete of all time. MJ, Tiger, Lance, all super dominate killers that no one could touch in their prime. Thinking his TDF wins are nullified due to doping is the equivalent of taking a Mr. O title away because of steroids. Literally every person on the tour was doping, it was just part of the sport.

"Our roided guy beat their roided guys" - Bill Burr.

Eurocucks were just mad that Lance was too good even tho they still do all the roiding.
Even today all the modern cyclists with their more advanced bikes arent as fast as Lance.

I crossed paths with him a few times back in the 90's when I was mountain bike racing and he's an absolute garbage individual but he can ride like a mofo.

Reason I asked was because Lance did something recently that went viral. I think he banned police bikes from being repaired or his shops or something. and 90% of people were calling him a disgrace.

I think we can all agree his career achievements is incredible, but he was not exactly the best person

agreed. I was watching some clips of arnold and the golden era. They were all clearly juicers but they still had to put in a tonne of work and they are always highly praised and respected.
I think if Lance didn't act like a douche people would still hold him in high regard

Wasn't there only one guy out of the top ten who didn't fail those tests?

Lance wasn't doing anything the other top guys weren't doing.

I think 87% of those who came in the top 20 were doping or associated with doping in Lance's era

I respect that he helped raise awareness for celltech which is an important first step for acceptance but don't really care for bicycle racing and wish they'd keep their spandex asses off the road.

He does not deserve most of the criticism he gets. The people who deserve the criticism are the doctors, officials, and higher ups in the cycling world who were complicit with the wide spread corruption

Of course, because Lance was at the top he falls the hardest
His morals are questionable
But his athletic talent and work ethic is undeniable

PED’s aren’t cheating if everyone does them. Also when you’re aiming to be the best in the world, you’ll do anything to achieve it.
No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

Every pro in the UCI was cheating to some extent. Lance should have denied it to the end.

Lancenevertested positive for banned substances. He beat every test.

Admit nothing, deny everything, make counter accusations.

Yes, even though he's a huge douchebag that I would never want to associate with.

He might've never been caught had his ego not been too insane. Him coming back for that last race and denying Floyd Landis? Retard.

Seems like a kunt, but as far as competitor goes yeah I still respect the accomplishments.

Much like Barry Bonds, he was great with or without it, but he elevated to superhuman levels because he could.

Common misconception.

Certainly all the top pro’s used and continue to do so.

The problem is that the vast majority of aspiring amateurs don’t, so the talent pool is decimated once you get to the professional level.

Put it like this, if testing was 100% reliable far more talented amateurs would make it through to the top level rather than quit, and Lance’s dominance may well never have occurred
