The term "soaking wet" like he must have been xyz lbs soaking wet still makes me lol

to this day this make me laugh when I see it used the term "he must have been (insert low weight) soaking wet"

I realized I never understood what it actually means or where it came from but it still makes me lol especially when its big muscular dudes making fun of around average sized or below average physiques.

I don't know why but its so funny to me

especially if combing with the term a buck 50 or something of that nature

its probably more that things in general weigh more when wet not necessarily clothes. I mean even that would probably not change your weight on a scale.

Or maybe too that most of the time people check their weight after showering when they are nude

But its mostly just a slang it doesn't have to make sense. to me it never did. maybe had more flavor that way
