I BSed my way through a job interview, I start in one week, wut do ?

It's a software developper job, read some things before the interview and aced it by pretending I'm the **** lmao, went good but I prolly will be like this :



Can write code but I'm no pro by any mean, will have to learn it all over pretty much.

when I was a junior in college I got a job offer to build and manage the 'IT infrastructure' for a political polling firm in new york city.

I just applied to a couple jobs for fun because I was bored and I had never applied to a job before. I just lied a lot during the phone interviews and they didn't end up asking very many questions because of how quickly they decided that they wanted me.

In case you're wondering i didn't know (and continue not to know) really anything about computer hardware or computer science. I still have no clue what the job they were expecting me to do because I didn't understand the job description.

So you're working now but you don't know what you're really doing ? If you're still working you must know some things or at least, really good at pretending.

Learn on the job, but put in the effort to solve the problems you are presented with. If you have to work 18 hours a day for a few weeks until you start to get the hang of it, then so be it.

If you're of average to above average intelligence you'll figure it out and be good to go in a bit.

No I turned the job down, even if I wanted to be a IT infrastructure systems designer or whatever, I had told them that I was graduating that spring when in reality I wasn't.

Just post all of your questions on stack exchange. If the boss ever asks you why you don't seem to be working just say your code is compiling.

You’ll be fine. They shouldn’t expect rapid growth from you when it comes to programming knowledge, but it’s fine for them to expect you to learn the product and understand a good portion of the code base rapidly.
