Starting to figure out this whole muscle building thing

Eat like a fukkin horse.

Been focusing on increasing size and been eating like crazy for a month or so now. Numbers across the board have always slowly increased. But lately...

Just got bench up to 225 for 4 sets of five and was out of gas at the 5th rep the past few weeks

Last night was rocking sets of 7 reps @225 and feeling like could have gone for 8 or more. Might even have some respectable numbers in a few months at this rate.

Feelsgoodman.

I don't gain much fat either. I can take it off later.

Damn. I used to do 6-8000 when winter camping on snowshoe towing toboggans all day.

The worst part is that I am chitting at least twice a day lol.

Before the covid thing, I ran a few cycles of Jonnie Candito's 6-week program, while eating at a 300-400 calorie surplus daily.

Managed to get my bench up with 40 lbs over a few months, my squat almost 90 lbs and dl over 100 lbs.

My bench has always been the weakest lift for me due to long arms etc, but still eating good and training seriously can go a long way. Keep pushing

Nice work man. 40 lbs is a serious jump on bench in six weeks! My everything kind of sucks lol. long arms don t help eh. I was up to 320 on squat for 5 reps till I hurt my knee doing something unrelated. Two months now and I am getting back at legs, but starting from the ground up.

It's only tough to build muscle the first time. Once you have a base, it comes back quickly.

I used to lift in university, then stopped for a good ten years. Started super weak this time, then I did notice getting back to where I was was not bad and did not take long.

The only thing I cant seem to get back is chinups/pullups.

I only weighed 15 lbs more, but it seems like I am still working towards doing sets of 12 like I used to. So much harder now to do chins, but everything else is progressing further than in uni.

Thanks but the jumps in weight were accomplished over a few cycles, not just 1 cycle (i.e 6 weeks).

If you follow a good progression template, you should be increasing your lifts each month

Well yeah, it's no coincidence that when I was at my biggest I was weighing the most from eating more and also the strongest. That and sleeping as much as possible.
