*** Official MISC Backup Plan Thread ***

With all the recent rumors about bodybuilding.com possibly going offline in the near future, I wanted to create this thread, hoping it gets stickied (although it probably won't).

I've been thinking... would the head admin (ForumNature) and perhaps some cool mods, and/or regular users who are good at web developing, be willing (and able) to work together to create a quality backup of the MISC under a different URL?

Ideally, one would need to...

- create the layout / board type as close as possible to this one, if not identical
- add the relevant sub-forums in addition to the general misc
- transfer user accounts with their rep power
- verify, via e-mail addresses from the original misc accounts, if it's really the same person

Since this is only about a MISC backup, one would not need the other sections of this forum, such a Losing Fat, Nutrition, etc. I mean even though those sub-forums are a great resource, the goal is not to make a complete bb forum clone, but only the MISC.

I'm aware there's already such a site that was created by a banned moderator, but the quality isn't very good IMO.

I think a team of people would be able to create a high quality backup in a relatively short amount of time, just in case this original one dies.

Tell me how would your site be any different than the people with talent helping at misc crew? A site already up and paid for, for a year.

I mean if you can do it better by all means. Seems disingenuous to have publicly trashed the other site only to put this up.

Or actually even compared to fit misc. Which is already up with a big userbase and good layout.

Lol wtf? I posted over there making suggestions on how to make it good, because it looks almost terrible the way it is now. If they could improve the quality it has the potential to be the replacement / backup that I'm talking about in this thread. I've openly said both here and there that the Misc Crew site is not good the way it is right now.
