How to cut plexiglass without botching it up?
I've got to make a straight cut across a 68" inch piece of plexiglass to replace a broken window. How would you suggest cutting it without damaging the piece? I have a glass cutter, utility knife, oscillating cutter and an angle grinder with a cut off wheel.

They make a plexiglass cutter. It is kind of like an exacto knife with a hook thing at the end. You clamp a board to the plexiglass to act as a guide and make a few dozen swipes with the knife, depending on how thick it is, and when you are maybe 75% through it with the knife, you set the cut on the edge of a table and smack it with your hand to break it clean. If you try to break it without cutting deep enough with the knife, you will get a chit edge that won't silicon well to other pieces, if you have to do such a thing.
should be able to get one of these for a couple bucks wherever you bought your plexiglass.

oscillating cutter, like a jigsaw, would be fine, but it will melt and create these pain in the azz things at the cut. You can knock them off with a file though.

Thanks, it's for a rental. Tried to give reps but something went wrong.
