Tired of being a poverty vision-cel but offput by potential complications from the procedure.

I here differing opinions on people who have had it. Would be nice not to wear glasses or contacts anymore but my vision will deteriorate as I get older anyway and I’ll eventually need glasses again

Is it worth it?

everyone i've encountered who has had the lasik procedure done swears by it. stop being a pussy(srs) fix those eyes

My sister had glasses most of her life. It kept getting worse and worse. Borderline blind without glasses/contacts. Eventually she got to a point where it stopped degenerating. So she saved up and got lasik 2 years ago. She's 32 now. She doesn't need glasses or contacts. She got into an accident 2 weeks after too (which is not good), but zero complications.

I say go for it. I'm not big on any operations or things that aren't necessary, but eyesight is a big one. I would get it if I didn't have good vision.

I have chronic dry eye, although only when I drink liquor. Starburts/halos was only for a week. Still worth every penny

Get your eyes fixed you fawkin 4 eye geek. You might get more poon outta this too

Do it mane. I had it done in 2016 and I have zero regrets. Don't cheap out, go to the best Lasik center in your area. That's what I did since I'm not taking chances with my eyes.

I’m actually jealous of people with perfect vision, they don’t realize something as simple as seeing details on the tree leaves they take for granted chit sucks

i had -8.25 vision. got lasik done and have 20/15 vision (better than 20/20). 5grand but was worth it and i even liked how i looked with glasses. sometimes i still try to push my glasses to my face and just poke the middle of my nose. I have/had psychological starbursts/halos so im like fuk it ill just get it since i already have starbursts/halos. took 1 day to heal and 7 days to be fully back to "normal". no complications what so ever and its been like 2 months. put my drops in before i sleep and thats it i dont even think i need them

i got like -6.5 but the issue is my astigmatism. any brahs with that and still got lasik done

I got it about 10 years ago. Best decision I've ever made. No more contacts or glasses garbage to deal with. Eyesight has not deteriorated since. Still see 20/15, eagle vision.

Those dissapear after 6months.

Did the surgery in 2008, best decision I ever did in my life. Imagine being able to see your peanor when you take a shower.

i've only lost a very very very tiny bit of vision in one eye after like 8 years. i don't think ur eyes would ever get as bad as they used to be.... but i would only get it if you are legit blind without glassesnot worth it then if u can still see

there's side effects like dry eyes, something you get used to after several years though

Basically I lose the fine details of objects about 5-10 feet or more away.

I've had it done years ago and it was a good decision, my eyes are somewhat dry sometimes but I think it has more to do with having nothing covering my eyes in the wind/AC

that's not that bad. i wouldn't get it personally. i would go until u can't see anything without glassesstruggle with this as well. fans, ac's, wind **** my eyes up. but i was legit blind without glasses before so the dry eyes is a very tiny small price to pay

Why lasik when it’s all about the prk?

I got it done, its scary AF (not the reason you think), but its worth it in the end. Read every word here I say, its absolutely vital.

The scary bit is not getting your eyes cut open or the procedure itself. Its the after bit that's scary AF. Normal dry eyes is just very slight discomfort. LASIK dry eyes can be bad enough that your vision actually goes to chit, because there's usually a layer of mosture covering your eye, making it nice and smooth. Without any moisture, it gets so dry, its just the rough surface, and your vision goes to chitsville, and you think you're going blind. Also, there'll be mornings that you open your eyes, and it hurts like fukking chit. The only way to describe it is like demons has been biting on your eyeball the whole night. There'll be times you're convinced that your flap reopened, and you're fukked, but usually its dry eye. See your doctor immediately either way.

All this will last 2-5 years. Don't believe them when they tell you a year. It get exponentially better 3 months in, then 6 months. A year in, you'll still have lingering effects. 2 years its mostly gone. 3 years you should be fine.

Use your eye drops as prescribed. If you use too much, your eyes gets used to the drops and stop producing tears. Too little, and its painful as fuk. Never ever touch your eye after the procedure. The first time I've touched it was 3 years after, to remove a stray eyelash. You can't even rub it at all. Any issues, drop everything on the spot, and go see your doctor. You'll use drops up to a year, maybe more, after surgery.

Don't do it if you have anxiety issues. You are right, losing sight is one of the most fukked up feeling in the world.

Use the best doctor money can buy, with max number of good reviews. The best will follow up 2 years after surgery, with quarterly appointments. Mine went up to 1.5 years. You'll think its a pain in the arse, but you must do it. There's always the dread that you walk in, and your vision deteriorates. Mine was 80/20R and 40/20L initially due to dryness, and I felt like chit, because it wasn't 20/20. Ended up with 20/10 R and 20/15 L, so it CAN (not guaranteed) get better than even normal human eyesight after awhile (my wife is 20/10 both, but she's 100% natural, some people just have better eyes naturally)

There's an alternate surgery called PRK, where they scrub off the front of your eyeball. Your vision will be chit for 3 months, but you will heal without a flap scar, consider that heavily.

They can cut a flap via laser (femtosecond) or mechanically (keratome). Mine was mechanical. There's pros and cons to both, do your own research. Laser is typically better, because they can fuk up and mis-cut mechanically, but your chances of hazing due to laser is higher. Choose your poison and go for it. Don't be a pussy and choose laser just because mechanical sounds chit - its not, you don't feel chit.

The procedure itself is *very* uncomfortable, but not painful. Dumb kunts gave me vallium at 10, first procedures started at 1030, I was dead last at 430, and the vallium was long gone by then, and I was on full time panic mode. The worst bit is not the laser, or the cutting, or even them touching your eyeball. Its the light they shine into it, makes it extremely uncomfortable. It feels weird, but straight after, you can see well without glasses, which is weird AF. They give you these eyeshields to put on, and tell you to leave it on for a day. I recommend 2 days, because some dumb kunts (myself) sleep with an eyeball digging into the pillow, causing chit dry eye. The elation at being able to see without glasses initially is the GOAT feeling.

Its worth it in the end, less headaches, more freedom, no glasses fogging, laser sharp vision all the time, being able to see in the shower, when you wake up, in the pool, etc.
