Bought a boat last week. Ask me anything... (PICS)
Bought a boat last week. Wasn't even planning on it. Got to work at the armory and checked FB while pooping. Marketplace notification to view new items (been looking at boats all summer). See pretty much what I was looking for just listed that morning in the same town. Send message, go check it out, we load up and go for test ride on nearby lake, shake hands on deal. Came back next day and picked it up.
17' bass tracker with a 75hp mercury motor. Bimini cover, trolling motor, fish finder/depth finder, two casting decks with swivel seats, live well, onboard battery charger for trolling motor batteries, new stereo and speakers with bluetooth and clean trailer.
Not all that pretty but does what I want it to do. Was out fishing friday, saturday and this morning. Thing hauls azz. Trimmed properly it will top out at 40mph.

I hope you never use the Bimini unless maybe you have a small baby on the boat and you don’t want it to turn into bacon.
I would guess you paid around $3000?

Used bimini today. Was sweating my ass off in the sun fishing all morning. Put it up and sat in the shade and had a cold beer

Bought my own boat when I was 12 and lived really close to this private lake and could store it on the site. I saved up a few birthdays and Christmas money and bought it myself. Many awesome memories on that boat with my brahs. Taking off at 6am when it opened and not coming back till midnight.

You get a new Yammy or Honda 4stroke and you need a computer engineering degree to work on it.

EDIT: Speaking on the Yammy's specifically. I'm not familiar with Honda's typical marine configuration.

Coming from a dyed in the wool, two smoke forever guy too...got several 4 strokes now and don't regret it.
Still have one two stroke though, works great.
Put a secondary fuel filter/ water separator on any boat and poof, 90 percent of the issues people have go away.
