Pepper Your Angus: Hurricane Laura

Gas is selling out, stores are packed, insurance companies stopped selling/adding to policies, town is just a mess with people.

I guess it is supposed to be a Cat 4 when it hits land, and a Cat 2 when it gets to us.

I still think all of this is overhyped. My house is “Hurricane Rated” which probably just means I paid extra money to be able to say that, and nothing more.

I doubt it will be a Cat 2 when it gets here, but if it is, I do anticipate a total loss of my house and RV. Probably the vehicles as well.

Good thing I have insurance. The storm is expected to be to me tomorrow afternoon. Will keep posted and take pics/vid for the misc. obviously.

I understand infrastructure isn't built for this kind if weather the deeper inland as you go. But as a Florida brah, you'll be okay with cat 2. I'm not down playing it, prepare, but your house and rv will be fine.

Yep, it's really only the category 5+ that you hear about for months. Anything with 125 mph or less will have bad storm surge and do some damage, but they're likely not shutting down the city for a month.
