Why is everyone so upset wit the ending to GoT? *Spoilers

Wtf did ppl expect Jon to take the throne? Lol what kind of chitty predictable ending would that have been. leaving the wall to live a humble life with the wildlings was congruent with jons personality from the start and made for a decent ending.

It should have been Khalesi that place needed a lot more diversity.

Because GOT was the ultimate slow build and then they crammed two seasons worth of story into a couple of episodes at the end.

I was pissed about how the night king went down so easy. The whole series was about the white walkers and they get taken out in ep 3 by a teenage girl and a blade? Lol wut. Thought it was a joke. Watched so many rumor shows on YouTube about what might happen and they were honestly all 100% better than what actually happened

Entire last season was complete chit, and Jon WAS ice & fire, plus they did the climax from the start and left the rest dull, it wasn't even a climax it was a build up and nothing but bereft disappointment after. It's not about Jon taking the throne but they could have at least had him take out the ice dragon instead they give him a lousy scene where it just pauses not even showing who he was the entire book is HIM not khaleesi.

This.

OP it has to make sense - whether it’s predictable or not. Doing X or Y just because “the audience will definitely not expect this!” is ridiculous.

Agree 100% on this. I was talking about last episode mainly.

The night king plot/battle of dead should have been a full season

Nah he couldn't sit on the throne imo. That would have made for a chitty ending regardless of the writing. Im yet to hear a better alternative ending from anyone that DOESN'T involve him or khales sitting on the throne

You don't really get to play the "it would have been predictable" card after deliberately building up a character's arc over a whole series then just discarding it at the very last moment. Well technically you can, but then D&D and their ilk shouldn't be surprised when viewers tell them to get bent. The Red Wedding was a logical conclusion to Robb breaking his oath and fighting immoral people who wanted him dead. Now a bad execution - no pun intended - for the RW would have been if Robb's wife decided to cut his throat then proceeded to blow Walder Frey.

Imagine if at the ending of Return of The Jedi Luke and Vader draw their lightsabers then get popped by C3PO and R2D2 in the back of their heads who then proceed to declare that the droids will take over the galaxy now since biological lifeforms are retarded af and only repeat the cycle of violence. Didn't expect that, huh?

GoT's plot took a nosedive when they ran out of books and went full potato with the Sand Snakes and the absolutely autistic and nonsencical suicide mission beyond the Wall. The rest is is just a turd avalanche that keeps growing between episodes.

NK died to a cheap shot lmao. Arya was stupidly powerful for no fukkin reason especially since characters like jon snow have been training all their lives. And characters like jaime lannister and whatever else had so much to gain from a story perspective... Could've been the (night) kingslayer.

Then they do some dumb crap near the end

Books only go through season 4 I believe. Then two random producers wrote their own scripts for the rest and basically rushed things the last 2 seasons because they got offered to do a Star Wars trilogy, which they didn’t even end up doing.

They haven't ended yet that is how they managed to fk it all up, arya's wolf was building a pack and making their way there all the Starks could warg, and they only shown Arya meet her once on the road then forgot about them, and Starks see through their eyes/warg it's how the rest of us knew Jon would live he saw through Ghost's eyes after he was stabbed.

He was ice and fire people who didn't read are mad about Dany but he was both, even the statues from the first book of the Starks, Bran feels like they are watching him when he ran through tombs so there is something with that too they were kings before, And "Ice" they just erased a lot of things is how it feels so most of us are annoyed who actually read the books. Dany was my 2nd favorite Jon was the main character.

I am not going to cover why that episode from a logistics and narrative standpoint and the last few seasons were fuking horrific, that's been done too many times.

Just the fact an 80lb girl after 7 seasons of building up the main nemesis ran through an entire army of dead, passed the generals, was "SCREAMING" as she did it--assassin hello?" and ends up killing the Undead king in a few seconds was enough to make you disappointed. There is fantasy and stretching reality then there's just this scene which from any view makes zero sense and is completely unrealistic, completely anti climatic.

If you watch the read-out when the actors found out who will kill the king you could tell some during their fake applause were thinking: "Wait what?".

The quality went down when the author was trying to play catch up with the TV Series. GOT first 2-3 seasons was nearly another series that's how different it was.

for me it was how pointless the walkers were and how little we learned about them and how easily they were defeated.

i think halo did a much better job at explaining the aliens that wanted to wipe all life

even mass effect was better

No idea why you're insisting that neither Jon nor Dany get the Throne, but ok.

- Dany takes KL, Cersei escapes with Jaimie but decides to go a "Fuk you 2: Wildfire Boogaloo" moment, Jaimie kills her when he realizes what she's up to, but it's too late, KL blows up, Jon and Tyrion die, Dany survives because fire res but with her love and army nuked, she nopes back to Essos with her remaining dragon

- nobody sits on the Throne, Tyrion & co rule as a council with Bran acting as autistic turboadvisor extraordinaire

- Jon kills the Night King, but this doesn't affect the dead, so Winterfell falls, Dany, the Starks plus some side characters escape on the dragons to the Weirwood - or whatever it was called, where Rhaegar married Lyanna - and Bran proposes that they create a new Night King. Jon volunteers because he's speshul, then it could go either way:

A: Jon dies, become the NK, plan backfires magnificently as he promptly kills Dany and the rest, Winter comes, Westeros is "ruled" by zombie Jon and Dany after they mop up what's left. No armies, no 3ER, gg.

B: Dany opposes the idea and torches the Weirwood along with Bran, Arya possibly kills her, Dany begs Jon to come with her to Essos but he tells her to fuk off so she does, Westeros is fuked

C: Jon dies, becomes the NK but the Weirwood is destroyed, waves goodbye, takes control of the dead and heads back to the North. Rest of the protagonists do whatever. Ending explains that Jon will eventually lose his grip and go genocidal just like previous NK, so technically Cersei rules, but with Winter coming and no way to further halt the dead, Westeros is fuked

and so on

What happened to aryas masked man superpowers in the last season? I guess she kind of forgot she had those. Like Danny kind of forgot about the iron fleet.

But at least she mastered instant transmission to teleport right above the night king in the middle of a wide open garden.

The Night King's story (and white walkers, all of the undead stuff) was trash for pretty much the entire series. So little was spent on it, every moment had this grandiose aura about it, but nothing ever came from it. We got like 3 good scenes in the whole series from these guys.

They somehow rushed a lot of content into one season, but at the same time there wasn't enough content for all 6 episodes. The episodes either wrapped up a storyline super fast (and dumb) or it would drag on forever. The first two episodes could have been condensed into 25 minutes, but instead we got 2 hours. Khaleesi blowing up the city was like 30+ minutes and kept going on and on and on and should have been 10 minutes top. While we got Hound v Mountain, the fight felt anti-climactic 'cause they waited so damn long.

The battle in the 3rd episode was terrible and I mean terrible. So dark you couldn't actually see anything, quick cut edited like a cheap action movie, and I don't understand why 'cause it was the same director who did Battle of the Bastards which was awesome.

Arya killing the Night King was anti-climactic 'cause he went out like a dork. Arya was a badass sure, but that scene was stupid.

When they ran out of book materials the writing for the show fell off a cliff. There was some cool stuff in Seasons 6 and 7, but the writing was so rushed, dumbed down, etc.
