Do you know a sociopath

I’ve started to believe my former roommate is an adaptive sociopath. Don’t really feel like typing why to be honest. I think he is the type where he experiences low levels of empathy. I don’t think he is the full psychopathy variant. One of the problems i’m having a lot of trouble wrapping my head around is any list of sociopathy traits i google he exhibits all of them regularly.

The weird part is he switches the target of his manipulation frequently ie he wont just target me. Its as if he knows if he just comes after one person they will get wise to the game. I also think its possible hes completely aware he is one. Even though every single action he does is self serving i dont necessarily see him as bad or evil. He occasionally engages is symbiotic behavior. He is not only parasitic as a psychopath would normally be. When he engages in giving the origin point of the motive can always be traced back to his personal gain. I honestly think he might know and just need someone kind that will accept that hes just like that.

PS one of the women on the misc has narcissistic personality disorder or sociopathy and used to reply to my threads i made a year or two ago with some rude projecting chit im not in the mood if you’re on tonight in fact dont reply to my threads ever in general. No its not you girl in love with british man.

Yup, took me too long to realize I was a victim of manipulation. Glad the individual is out of my life. It was for the best.

people misdiagnose this so commonly for any kind of social confusion. the world is competitive. Sometimes people do things during one portion of their life and not during others, or with some people and not others. Try to fit every check mark in the psychology manual you found in the children's books section and see how far Mr. Rogers goes in the business world.

I hear pity ends up the primary goal these kinds of people they seek, and so, someone acting nice all the time aimlessly will fall into their webs. You need to stay partial to some people and stand up to enemies as appropriately as possible. Cannot just act nice to everyone like it's meet-and-greet in pre-school.

Instead of labelling anything against your interests with this, try leadership.

An easy way to tell if someones a sociopath is you will notice they never get sad/depressed. They like to thrill seek because they can only feel excitement and anger. I’ve only met a couple true sociopaths, usually a lot of people like them because they are so smooth with their words. But they have intentions that are only towards themselves. And they will also try to make everyone look to bad to make themselves better by talking behind their back.

One of the sociopaths i knew let his friend OD on heroin and dropped him off knowing that he was dying. I knew the guy that died too. He showed no remorse.

I’m very socially attuned though so i can see right through a sociopath. Strong empaths like me can sense if someone truly feels remorse.

No but I would like to. I love navigating social situations like a game of chess, and have always been curious as to how I would navigate through having to interact with a sociopath in a consistent basis. Would be fun srs, like a test of my skills

Most people are simply narcissistic and egocentric which is where the lack of empathy kicks in.

Eitherway, the issue is a lack of empathy, and at one point I was lacking in this fundamental human trait - once I developed spiritually and found my soul again, I began to have an ability where I can feel what a person feels; disgust, anger, or even lust - and yes, it's possible to feel when a chick is sexually attracted to you by having empathy, but the thing is you won't just use her for sex when you reach this point.

Without the skill above, imo you're a sociopath to some degree, because once you have it, you prefer for other people to feel good, because YOU feel good when they do.
I do believe though that some people were born without the ability to feel empathy. Also anger, disgust, lust. Sociopaths can feel those emotions. They just can’t feel empathy.

Also the first guy you mentioned sounds like a psychopath. Psychopaths usually have mental issues.

Is this that chitty roommate with the AC? Good if you got out then.

Went on a few dates a year ago with this chick and always joked with my friends that she was probably a sociopath not fully knowing what that meant, but reading over your post,
holy fuk, there's a good chance she is one.

She was very career-oriented, and within the first 5 minutes of sitting down at some restaurant, I asked her something along the lines of "what do you do with your friends outside of work," and she said
something like, "I don't really see the point of hanging out with friends outside of work." Legit just bertstared her for 10 seconds until she said, "...you can leave if you want to..."

Finished the meal and went on a couple more dates with her. Knew she was out there, but I just had nothing else going on. She half-ghosted me to end the relationship and recently hit me up on
******** to ask me to leave some reviews for her podcast. Did it cus fuk it, she's in my field and does seem like a good connection, but damn she's odd.

One IRL, possibly. I like the guy but he's got a screw loose. He has most, if not all of the traits. On the misc, sociopaths seem to make up a solid percentage point. Probably multiple.

Nah misc is just a bunch of good souls that are lost, overly empathic, beta. Not many sociopaths here. Some may act like it though for the trollz
